Q: Whats the dinmmension between screw holes?

I didn't pay attention because this strike needed new screw holes (it covered up the old ones).

Q: What is the width of the plate where the tongue is?

from edge to edge, it's two inches which is the same as a standard strike plate. These work great in my house which tends to shift with weather changes (heavy clay soil).

It is 2 3/4" high x 3/4" wide. Hope this helps you. Finish that I received was satin nickle color.

Q: Will this work outdoors?

They should work any where they'll fit. I'm using one on a shed outside. I was thinking these were stainless, but if they're plated they'll eventually rust. But they are quite heavy, so the only effect the rust will have will be cosmetic.
