For the money, 5 stars
I concur with the major points made by other reviewers, including the fact that the red on the rotating bezel is lighter than in the pictures. Here are some other observations stated as grades:1. Face = A-. It is attractive, but by modern standards doesn't look like an expensive face.2. Crystal = C. It is not sapphire, and is therefore more susceptible to scratches.3. Band = A+++. This band would look right at home on a $3000 watch. It is attractive and sturdy. It fits between the lugs with high-precision tolerance.4. Faithfulness to original diver Accutron design = C. The body is slightly larger. The original had a day window next to the date window. The red segment on the bezel of the original went only from 0 to 15 (not 20).5. Luminosity = F. It looks like it has it (like the original), but it does not. A close look at the hands reveals some sloppiness in the placement of the (fake) luminous strip.6. Accuracy = A+++. I haven't had it long enough to give a quantitative estimate, but I can say that it is superior to average quartz accuracy. I assign the high grade based on experience with another Accutron II and a Precisionist. ***Update: After six weeks, the watch was good to within a second. This is far better than claimed accuracy.***7. Battery life = C. I base this on the literature that comes with it, which states that it is 1 year. This mediocre number is probably due to the smooth sweep second hand (which is like the original and many people think is cool). I'd like to have the ability to stop the second hand without stopping the watch.Summary: To me, this is an outstanding value at under $300. I would consider it a poor value at the MSRP of $600. It is a good looking, overall well-built watch that is extremely accurate. You won't go wrong at the Amazon price.Note: If you resize the band yourself, do not fall into the trap of disconnecting the band at the watch first. It is living H___ to get back on. The tolerance on the band is so tight that you cannot seat one end of a pin first. The pins do not compress enough to allow you to slip both ends between the lugs simultaneously. I had to replace the pin I took out with one that had a longer compression range -- fortunately, I had one handy.

The Bulova Accutron II Snorkel a fantastic watch. I have been a watch collector for many years now, owning a fair number of brands up and down the scale. The original Accutrons have always had a special place in my heart, and with this model, Bulova has hit the mark for long-time collectors and people who want a quality watch that is unique yet won't break the bank. The plus side:The movement is what it's all about. The smoothness of the sweep second hand is exactly the same as the tuning-fork movements of the original Accutrons of the 60's/70's. The accuracy is unparalleled for an analog watch that does not do a check-in via radio to an atomic clock. I have G-Shocks that check-in, there's usually some sort of self-adjustment. However, after a week, the Snorkel is +/- zero seconds. Meaning spot on. (I'll update after a month or so to report any change). The fit and finish is very nice, with IMO great selections between the polished vs brushed areas. Whoever designed it should win an award for capturing the essence of the original while giving it modern appeal. The bracelet is nice, very solid and quite comfortable, with a butterfly clasp (the kind I prefer). Most people will have to resize it, there are two half-links which should allow them to put the clasp exactly where they like it.The minus side:The red on the inner bezel could be stronger. It's not so light as to be pink, but it almost has a faded quality to it. That's something I'd expect from a vintage watch (of which I have many). In any event, it's definitely red, just not as strong as the sample image. This minus is not really a complaint, because there isn't much Bulova can do about it, but collectors should be aware -- there is no hum. If you're really a fan of the old tuning-fork Accutrons (or other makes, such as Omega), you'll remember the hum from the vibrating tuning fork. Not this watch, it's as silent as can be. Like I said, probably not much they can do about it, but I still miss it.Love love love the inner rotating bezel. But the bezel crown (at 2:00) is a bit recessed, so I have to take it off my wrist in order to adjust it. Probably another thing that, if Bulova made it stick out more, I'd be complaining that it stuck out. As it is, it's aesthetically pleasing. The lumination could be better. It's not bad, but it doesn't last very long. I'm not saying it has to be as good as a Rolex, but then again I have Seikos with amazing lume, and this is in the same price range.Last, the box it comes in could be better. The box is at least as good as other Bulovas, or Seiko, or Invicta. But I would happily have paid a bit more for a box that was as special as the watch it holds.I've been wearing this straight through for the past week, and will keep it in regular rotation. All in all, for the price it's a great piece.

Just got the watch yesterday. The design and comfort are great. Moving the internal bezel is super smooth and solid. Sweeping second hand is awesome! Build quality and the band are very nice, with good heft to them. The red on the bezel is surprisingly not red, almost pink. One thing I'm pretty bummed about is there was a sticker on the bottom of the watch that reads: "EXP 3/17". If that implies that the battery is going to expire in 3 months (I received the watch on New Year's 2017) that would be really disappointing! I already had the watched sized and removed the plastic so an exchange wouldn't work great. If the seller could confirm what this sticker means that would be helpful. If I only get 3 months out of this battery is there any recourse? That is conveniently a month outside the return period...

Really nice!
I just received my watch a few days ago, but thus far I really like it. I haven't worn any others since it was received - that's speaks volumes! The band is very comfortable and easy to adjust. The face is very clear, uncluttered, and easy to read. I'm heading off to Asia in a few weeks for some fun in the water and think this may be the only watch I take. It will be fun to snorkel and play in the waves without needing to worry about any moisture entering my watch!

Bulova Snorkel 96B210
Marco

All Good
A second generation Accutron with an excellent build and a great, if big, bracelet with butterfly clasp. An extremely accurate high beat quartz movement powers the watch, supposedly accurate to seconds a year. The watch wears large and is lovely looking, it comes with a spacer on the crown to save the battery and this bit of plastic must be removed to start the watch. Adjustment is easy using the lower crown. The upper button rotates the internal bezel. The Crystal is hardened mineral glass. An excellent buy but be prepared to make the bracelet smaller, and I have big wrists.
