Great Small Ball Launcher
This is great because if you try to use a regular size ball launcher for a small ball it won't work very well at all. Since I have a small dog that loves to fetch but needs a small ball for the size of his mouth this is perfect.

Not as great the one for bigger dogs.
My son bought one for his dog, and it was awesome!! My dogs are under 6 pounds, so I got the smaller version. While it fits the smaller balls, the arm is so short it is nearly impossible to fling the balls. It won't throw like the bigger one does. I really wanted this to work, my dog loves to play fetch, but this is useless for that. The big one is great though! That is the only reason I didn't give it one star

This pretty much s*cks...
Just because one is throwing a small ball, doesn't mean one is a small person or that one's dog is incapable of running long distances. This is a child's toy, whereas the other two Chuckits, Large and Medium, are actual devices for throwing a ball way out there for Fido to retrieve. This puny thing requires a lot of arm effort, which is what a throwing device is intended to minimize.

Throws it pretty far but not too far
I like it because when I use it to throw the ball, it stays within the small doggie park, I just wish my dogs were more interested in the balls!

Not the same
This is the second time I’ve tried to find a replacement Chuckit for my small dog! What’s with the short handle??!! I can’t seem to find the long handled one for a small dog anywhere!!! The long handle gives you a lot more “fling,” and now I think I understand why so many people were disappointed. It just came today, and I honestly haven’t tried it because I’m thinking of returning it. Not at all what I was expecting.I wanted to add that I contacted the seller who very nicely agreed with me that the photo did not represent the actual product. They may have changed that by now. They also gave me a refund and a link to the one I thought I was buying.Part of the problem is trying to figure out which one is which. I wanted one for the small ball for my small dog, but I also wanted the long handle. (You can see the difference in my photo.) I actually bought one directly from Amazon before this, because I saw “mini launcher” or something similar. When I got it, it was the medium size ball with the same, short 14-inch launcher. To make things even more confusing, my original one measures 21 inches, and I couldn’t locate that anywhere. But, thanks to this seller I finally found the long launcher for the small ball. There are about 8 different sizes, and most of them are for medium balls. I only saw 2 for small.Chuckit has a diagram that is supposed to help you figure out which is which, but it’s still confusing, I think. Why not show a dog or dogs with each of the launchers so customers can actually see the size that works best for their dogs. Even a size range would be helpful since my small dog isn’t tiny, but he still does best with the small ball.

Best ten bucks I ever spent
My Dachshund loves to fetch, and he’s not a casual fetcher. All day, into the night. We have a ton of the small Chuckit balls, but throwing them for hours at a time was tiring, but also the ball gets really gross, really quickly. I am SO HAPPY to not have to touch that ball anymore. Buy it. I also have the long one for medium balls, like typical tennis balls, of which we also have a ton (and those get NASTY). I am getting a medium short to replace it because it’s way easier on my arm and wrist to flick that weight. Our yard is big for Dachshunds, but but a full fling would fly into our neighbor’s yard. Get the short one.
