Lovely sound.
Absolutely love this drum, the tone is unreal and the build quality is good to, haven't had to tune mine yet touch wood but honestly this is the most relaxing instrument to play due to the tone it emits when you play it.

Wonderful sound. Great size
Brought as a gift. The size is great especially considering there are smaller ones that cost the same. Solid made and sounds beautiful. Very pleased

Lovely gentle tones
This Chinese made tongue drum looks lovely out of the box. It really is that colour in the image and will fit in as a decorative things when it's not being played. It came out correctly tuned. If you find that it is slightly "off" in some places you can find tutorials online that will show how to correct the pitches. It's for my wife, who actually wanted a xylophone. She has one of those on the way as well, but the tongue drum creates gentler tones and creates a somewhat meditative mood when it's played. There are mallets with the drum to beef up the sounds, but you can play with fingertips for a much softer and quieter sound. There's also a little songbook/leaflet that introduces you to a few tunes by listing the tongues that you need to play to sound it out. It's actually quite nice to pick out the tunes you like for yourself, with bit of trial and error. You sound the scale out (13 notes in this case), so a chromatic scale ending an octave higher, but working your wany around the drum using each hand alternately, until your haned meet at the note furthest away so, chromatically, next left, next right, next left, next right, moving away and sounding out the scale. Once you get this relationship into your muscle memory you should find yourself able to play quite a few things from other sources, or play something beautiful for yourself.I think as a Xmas present this is going to go down very well! It's also a bit heavier than it might look. Portable, but you'll know you're carrying it!

Good value, reasonable tone to try out
Bought cheap from warehouse clearance on impulse after coming across one at Broomhill Estate sculpture park hotel and been completely consumed! Compared to cost of bespoke/non mass produced one it's still great value for money. If not heard tongue drum or handpan before it's worth checking out videos on YouTube first. There's a bewildering potential array of tunings which suit different uses. There's something hypnotic and ethereal about the sound and can be surprisingly expressive depending on how you play. Feels far more intuitive and fun to play than many beginner instruments. Can sound jaw droppingly amazing when played by an 8 year old whose showing off basic drumming techniques/para diddle rythms they've learned after a few lessons.Definitely easier to get a good consistent tone using mallets provided than with fingers alone but more challenging to reduce dissonance, which builds up more easily with heptatonic tuning (though can also be used to advantage to produce "ghost" minor chord equivalents even though is tuned to major scale). Using fingers and damping with other hand easily overcomes this though (at cost of less overtones/more muted sound). There's definitely a sweet spot for each tongue, though this is reasonably predictable if you take time to understand the physics behind how the sound is made/system resonance/Helmholtz effect. (Hint: tap about 2/3 to 1/4 of length and experiment with timing in relation to length of tap/force applied). Confusingly though because middle is a different shape it's much harder to get a pure sound consistently (unless using hand to dampen)Haven't properly checked how fine tuneable it is but just looking at design, it's not going to be easy/will potentially need to get over fear factor of taking power tools (higher end ones use magnets to adjust mass and system resonance parameters; your gonna have to physically adjust length of tongue with a file or Dremel). Having said that I think it is made of magnetic alloy so may be able to play around dropping down scale using cheap small neodymium magnets. )It looks ok, with decent powder coat paint finish. Gold stickers are a bit naff but not particularly offensive and you don't have to put them on.Final note (pun intended) there's smaller drums out there which sound ok but more hit and miss with tuning. Would go for this size minimum if intending to try and use to play musically rather than improvising meditative/atmospheric noise

Gut und Preiswert
The media could not be loaded.
