Great product. Works just like it should.
It works just like it should! Keeps my door open even on a hill. Great product.

Doesn't fit
Not for TJ, arm is too short. Useless.

Not an easy install on a TJ
This was a pain in the butt. The rod that slides out of the frame isn't long enough to be useful on a TJ without serious modification. I bit the bullet and made it work, but it took so much long than it should have. If I had it to do again, I would send this back and dealt with the issue of the door closing on me like I have for years. I took a little different approach than some of the other successful reviews, but everyone has their own ideas for making it work.

Get tools or don’t bother.
This was installed on a 2004 Jeep Wrangler (TJ). What’s pictured is a newer JK. However, the description states it can be installed on a TJ and it can, but it does not hold the door open at a 90 degree angle like shown. It’s more of an 80 degree angle. This product promises, but does not deliver as advertised.First off the holes weren’t tapered down enough to allow the bolts to sit flush with the block. This caused the stopper block to not close. So, I had to drill the holes bigger using my tapered drill bit (good luck if you don’t have one). You can see in the pics I provided that they don’t sit flush before I drilled a bigger hole. The next issue is that you need to use a rivet nut tool to install the nutserts that they kindly provide and expect every DYIer to have one (luckily I had that too). The worst part is once I installed it, the door stopper doesn’t reach as it shows in the advertisement. I will have to ensure that the stopper is seat against the hinge and the knob tightened. That’s not too bad, but do make sure it is secure before leaving it alone.Sure, I put mine on the bottom instead of the top, however, it’s a rectangular door. It does not matter if it’s installed on the top or bottom part. This does work to stop the door from closing on you if you’re on a hill facing down or something, but not like you would hope nor how they advertise (different door, I get it). I also would have used a different type of bolt as this t25 bolt could strip out easily...so be careful installing and removing repeatedly.Get the tools I state above if you proceed with this install.Update: I moved it up a little higher to rest the bar on the bracket as shown in the pictures. Yeah it looks rough, but I did have to get in there to widen the opening. The good news is that it holds the door open almost 90 degrees now.I got the idea from Tony below. Thanks for the picture Tony because it gave me the idea to do it that way since the instructions weren’t helpful on placement. So, for anyone looking in, install it so the arm rests on the protruding part of the bracket. See picture from me and Tony below.

I love it!
I’ve been looking for something to prop my tailgate open for some time now. I found this item and at first, I was a little skeptical but after I installed it, I instantly fell in love with it! It’s perfect; no rattle when it’s closed, and It gets the job done. Highly recommend!

Save Your Money
Believe the others and do not buy this item. It doesn’t work by design and needs modification to even possibly work. If you have a tailgate table and the factory sub like I do, this went into the trash bin. Hard to believe it’s still being sold.

Nice must have product for Jeep. Semi hard install
This product is what I was looking for. It prevents the rear door from shutting on you. Drilling was an issue because I don’t have great tools. I drilled a hole just big enough to use a mallet to smash bolt in place and it worked. Haven’t had issue with it.

Gets the job done for me
The tailgate stop is adequate for what I need. I live in Oklahoma & the wind blows a lot here. I needed something that could hold the gate of my 06 Jeep LJ open while I loaded stuff into the back of my Jeep. I did have to reach out & ask what size drill bit to use since the instructions left that part out (9.2-9.5 mm by the way) & the company responded quickly. Thank you for that!

Not suited for TJ Wrangler
Firstly the item did not fit the TJ wrangler like it was advertised furthermore the countersink for the screws were not deep enough to allow the device to slide in and out as it was supposed to. I have had to apply for a refund which is also a difficult process with Amazon.

Doesn’t work
The media could not be loaded. It is not machined correctly. Securing screws do not for flush enough for the sliding arm to work. Why would you ship something that fundamentally doesn’t work?
