Emtec P700 Series 1TB USB3.0 WI-FI HDD (ECHDD1000P700), Black, 1 TB

It’s a new product, it works and performs well. It’s something that I see a great future for those needing portability in storage.

The connection is really slow! Great storage space! Video takes forever to play back and very choppy..

I managed to get working, learned most of the features by trial and error. Could not find the appropriate user manual, the one I did find referred to Android 3 or higher, so very old.No tech support at all they do not answer.But overall it works fine

Super easy to use.

I bought a 500gb p600 as a gift, and thought the p700 would be the same, operationally, just double the capacity. Sadly, it is not. The Wifi speed on the p700 is Less Than Half the speed of the p600. At 4 to 7 Mbs, I can not even stream SD video to a Single Device reliably. The p600 had a firmware update that made it's Wifi speed something like 24 Mbs which is not blazing fast, but was acceptable for single user HD streaming, and light file transfer.So, without a useable wifi speed, this drive is an over-priced, over-sized, under-capacity, overly-complex, wired USB drive.Update: Since no firmware has been released for this unit, I must conclude that the wifi speed will never be improved. Unless you only need to watch a single SD video stream, or you only need to transfer a small number of photos at a time, DO NOT PURCHASE THIS DRIVE.

Difficult to set up samba. I used a few network utilities to find the samba address. App refuses to connect unless on the device wifi. Supportive Documentation to configure samba would be nice. Dlna works good

The device was working fine and then I let the battery go dead. Charged it back up and know it doesn't work like before. Reset does nothing. Won't switch over to the USB so i can't get to my files. Very ineffective as a backup. Log on wireless and it won't show me my files. Poked around long enough to see the drive is containing files... but won't let me do anything with them. I'll have to open it up to get my information. Paper weight with blinky lights ...

Even after battery fully charged device would not run on no matter how many second I pushed the button.Manual and On-line info was of no help, I'm returning, would not suggest this product.

Destacable su versatilidad, conectable por usb, wifi o ethernet. >Para verlo desde windows como un HDD USB normal, tienes que asignarle primero una letra de unidad, en el administrador de discos (panel de control, herramientas administrativas, admin de equipos, admin de discos) y a partir de ahí es tuyo

This product should be named Hard To Connect. I constantly Get an unable to connect error even though I’m in it’s own WiFi. I’ve created a simple password that I use to get into it and like I said, it says unable to connect check your settings. I use this at camp for movies and get super frustrated with it to no end.

This is a great little machine, very good value for the money. Files are accessible either through a dedicated app, web interface or SMB/CIFS share which all work reliably (apps tested on iOS only). As a bonus it can also sync from Dropbox and make some kind of a backup of the device that is running the app, did not try the restore. Charging and wire/wireless access work simultaneously so while not on the road it can double as a home NAS plugged in all the time.performance data measured over the wire which is my main use case:read 6.5MB/swrite 5.1MB/sDownsides: - guest account comes by default without a password and has read write access to everything. Only two users are possible, admin/guest, no per directory access levels so if you are giving someone the password, its all or nothing. - it charges through a micro USB3 cable, not a standard micro USB, so for most people its another cable you have to carry along
