This book made me clean my room and face my problems
From the description I thought this book was going to be more of a romance with Asher being more of a main character.Instead it was a story about a girl who hides in books avoiding facing her problems and her reality she has. Asher acts more like a catilyst for Darcy to try to get out her mothers hoard because he feels like something out of her books that she hides in.Her poor friend get understandably upset at Darcy telling her problems to Asher instead of her because to Darcy it isn’t real If she tells him because boys like him only exist inside her stories. It was a wake up call to me who also has a bad habit of hiding her problems by reading and it feels like this book is a reminder to go into the real world and find happiness there as well.

Very YA
I tried to like this book, but it feels like a Disney Channel Original Movie. Super G rated, save for a few odd cuss words that felt out of place. I expected more romance and less contemporary high school girl drama. The book references came off as cheesy.Overall, there's nothing wrong with this book. The story, the writing, the characters - it's all super cute. Almost to the point where there is a lack of conflict. I'm sure 15 year old me would've loved this book.

It Was Good But I Wouldn’t Read It Again
This book probably took more then thirty pages of me reading/listening to it before I could get into it and even then it was disappointing some. Darcy had a lot going on but the way the book was written I assumed it would be more of a romance book but I feel like the romance aspect was a subplot. The book itself reads more like a becoming of age book- which is good but when the synopsis makes it seem like a romance book I assumed Asher and Darcy would be more involved throughout the pages. They had lots of moments together yes, but not all of them were in a romantic setting. Asher was cute and seemed like a good guy but with how little their moments wrapped with each other I didn’t feel like we really got to know him a lot. This book is the kind of case where I’m giving it a three stars because it’s a book I never plan to read even though I enjoyed the book. It seem to drag on a little bit too long for my liking and I actually sped up the audiobook part for me to get through it a bit faster.I love the title and the cover itself. I just had different expectations for it based off the synopsis.

good read
Slow burn but very interesting story. If you like a slow burn and story with deep detail, read. Mentions many other books.

Overall its really cute
Marisol is such an outgoing Character that I loved. She helps Darcy a lot throughout the book. Asher and Darcy are very cute together, I love how they help each other with their personal issues. And the fact that Asher got to fly!

A good story
I loved seeing Darcy find her way in her story. The friendship between her and Marisol is what makes the story, they are the best. The hoarding storyline hits hard, you can really see the mental illness aspect of it all. But I loved seeing Darcy fall in love and start interacting with the world.

Cute Story
So I want to be clear that I enjoyed this book. It was definitely not what I expected, and it was certainly cute and had some great moments. It was definitely geared towards a younger YA, but that's also fine. The characters were cute, they were going through some real things, and they were learning to cope and become their own people. I enjoyed that a lot, and I loved how the author wove classic lit into the story and used books as a coping mechanism for our FMC because it's incredibly relatable for a lot of us. We lose ourselves in stories as a way to deal with the outside world, and that was something I strongly understood. That being said, this book just felt long. It wasn't long by any means, but it FELT long. I don't know if it was my mindset going into this one, or if it was just generally a slow book, but it seemed like it wouldn't end. I also wasn't crazy about how our FMC (SPOILER ALERT) compared her collection of books to hoarding because I don't feel like that correlation can be made at all. Her mother had a legitimate mental illness, and finally understanding it because she "hoards books" didn't sit well with me. It felt like just an easy way to resolve that conflict, which could have been done differently.Long story short, I liked it, it was a cute read, but I didn't love it.

Best YA I've read in a while
I had not read a YA book in a while and decided to try The Library of Lost Things. It was a great book. I'm still processing and may add more to this review at a later date. There is a lot to this book. One thing that I found a little unbelievable were the romantic lines between the two main characters at the end of the book. Oh, they were swoonworthy and I actually loved them but I'm not so sure people of that age would really come up with such perfect words in the moment. I'm not sure adults could. That being said, this is a fiction book and the author did a great job. I see a re-read in the future in order to get the little things I missed. This is a perfect book for a lover of books and Peter Pan.

Bookish. Romance. Beautiful read.
This was one my lovely partner bought me for Christmas and just from the title and cover I knew I would love it and I wasn't wrong. What an amazing final read to finish 2020 on. A beautiful read. One about finding your inner self, your true self.I can relate to Darcy in many ways. Loses herself into books? Check. Hoards books? Check. Total bookworm? Check. She even works in a book shop. But behind her front door at home is the biggest secret she is keeping from everyone... One that rules her life.Cue hot Asher entering the scene... Phoaww. Loved him. He is the perfect gentleman in many ways and he reads! I don't want to give anything away but the ending is perfection. Everything turns out okay and the secret is out of the bag and love is in the air. Darcy finds her own love instead of love in books. Beautiful read. Loved it all.I loved how at the start of each chapter there's a book quote or relevant quote. Highly recommend. A well deserved four stars from me.

An enjoyable easy-read that's also got a SUPER pretty cover.
Okay so firstly, THIS. COVER. It is cute as hell and part of the reason I wanted to read this book.Overall I enjoyed this and managed to devour it in a solid day's reading. There were aspects of the plot that felt predictable at times due to the nature of the plot but the overall themes I felt were tackled well and in a simple but effective way. For me, the constant, shall we say 'bookish talk', didn't bother me much as it was obviously a key theme to Darcy's problems. The ending for me was totally ideal and I'm so glad. It showed the progress our characters, made and how it's only really the beginning for them in a new chapter. All of the character's relationships felt organic and not at all forced. I was excited to see where Asher's and Darcy's relationship went and also how Darcy's and Marisol's friendship faired through it all. (I wasn't disappointed cause like, everyone needs a Marisol in their life honestly.) And can I just say, I'm SO glad that our main 'antagonist' theme wasn't the school's popular kid being a bully. Sure, there were very few aspects of this typical theme with the beach party and house party scenes, but instead of it being a driving force of the main issue it was purely used as a small plot device which was a slightly refreshing change. All in all, enjoyable book and a fairly easy read.
