Great Size Litter Box
I was a little confused when looking at the pictures of what the true size of this litter box was. I couldn't tell if it was round or oval. I finally found a review that mentioned it was oval. I was already really leaning toward purchasing it and that fact tipped the scale. This is a great size box. Love the high sides and the pink color is pleasing for me. I doubt my cats care. I use tofu litter with this box and find it very easy to clean. Many mention that it is hard to clean around the built in step with litter catching grate but I have absolutely no issue cleaning around there. I am using the tiny scoop that came with it for now. Not sure why they made it so small but if they'd increase the size by 50% or so it would be so much better. It does an okay job but is hard to get those bigger clumps. I hesite to get another because the shape is perfect for the box. Overall, I love this pretty pink litter box and my cats use it as intended. So that's a win too.

Combine with the Sift Ease litter sifter!
I specifically bought this litter pan for the indent at the front under the entry stair. It works almost like a handle. It makes it incredibly easy to pick the pan up. And then the shape and high walls of the pan allow me to hold that handle and pour out all the litter in one swift easy motion that doesn't hurt my back.No one's paying me to say this, it's just that after I found this system a year ago, after over a decade of having cats and having changing the litter be the bane of my existence, I feel a need to tell someone the thing I found that works for me. And that's very specifically the combination of this litter pan and the Sift Ease litter sifter.I'd used the litter sifter before when helping a friend, but always ran into the problem of lifting her litter pan and pouring the litter being kind of cumbersome. I'm clumsy, and any litter pan tall enough to actually protect from spraying tended to also be unwieldly. I'd either kind of hurt my back doing it and also have to get closer to the litter than I'd like, or I'd make a big mess (and then have to get closer to clean it up).But I remember thinking if I ever needed to buy new litter pans, maybe I'd look for one that felt more made to pour, and then I'd get my own Sift Ease. And then I moved states and so I decided to try it.And I looked and looked at so many litter pans, and this was the only one that seemed to be able to do what I was picturing. It worked SO WELL. It still works so well. When I think of the years I spent with cleaning the litter being this big exhausting task, and now I can do it in under a minute, on a whim. I don't have to build myself up to it. I don't feel like I need to shower or I'll die right afterwards. I'm not exhausted. And I haven't made a huge mess.I've used those rotating circular litter pans, and just found the doors got stuck and they made a mess everywhere. I've used the kind where you're supposed to pan for gold every time, and things got stuck and weird and it just never worked like it was supposed to. This system just works. This litter pan and the Sift Ease litter sifter. I lift, pour, dump the grate contents in the garbage, dump the litter back in the pan. My litter lasts so much longer! I am able to actually clean it regularly! This is now a chore on the easy automatic level of taking out the garbage - simple and you can do it the moment you see it needs to be done. Instead of where it was before, more akin to pulling a few stubborn weeds, where you kind of need to plan it into your day and you feel tired and gross after.Plus, finally being able to actually sift the litter every day makes the litter last so much longer and saves me money!Of note: I also only use Arm & Hammer Platinum Clump and Seal. I used a different Arm & Hammer litter once and it stuck to the pan more when pouring. I don't know if that litter is the only one that will work, but I do know you want solid dry clumps - anything less will just stick to the litter pan when you're pouring.Anyway, if you need a simple lift-and-pour shape for your litter pan, this one can do that. It's so easy to grab by its little under-the-stair handle. Genuinely feels like it was made for it, even though I think it's actually just a happy coincidence. Combine it with a strong enough clumping litter and a good litter sifter, and you can clean your litter in under a minute. The one drawback that the negative reviews point out - that litter tends to clump under the "stair" - are true. I'm able to avoid that if I sift the litter every day (which I now am much more consistent about!), but if I miss a day, it's there. Once a month I get a new box of litter delivered, and when I do that I start completely fresh and deep clean the litter pan, including under the removable wicked stair piece. It's never been difficult during the deep clean to get those places that tend to build up, and while I'm sure a design could be made that avoids that problem, considering how well the shape of this pan suits my other purposes, I'm fine with it.

Second time I’ve purchased
I love this litter box, despite some of the downsides. The walls are high so my particularly avid scratcher doesn’t resort to the walls. It’s still spacious enough for them to turn around, circle, and dig. I’ve had the larger version and found it too flimsy and cumbersome when cleaning, but this one is perfect for my needs and the space available in my apartment. The downside is the curved bottom, making it hard to scoop. The scoop is also curved, but like most included scoops, it kind of sucks. Also if your cats are jerks like mine, they like to face the back and pee directly around the step, which is especially hard to clean. Clumping litter never holds up when you have to start scraping. Because of this, I have to clean it more regularly, but it’s a small price to pay for how well it suits mine and my cats’ needs. The cruel reality is that it’s plastic and after significant scratching and extended use, it will have to be replaced. Eventually you can’t clean it enough to diffuse the smell, so the price may not be worth the frequency of replacement for some.

Love it.
Well designed Actually looks nice!Love the high sides, so much less litter is being flung out of the box. The smooth, curved sides make scooping easier. Not a huge box but a good size for smaller cats. I even used it when they were 10 week old kittens. My one cat has some mobility issues in her back legs. The step allows her to step in and out- she doesn’t need to jump over the edge. All in all a great box.

The answer for high pee-ers
I ordered this litter box because I have 4 cats and one of them, who I will not identify so as not to embarrass him, would not settle his bum low enough and was hitting the inside of the cover on the litter box when he peed. One would think that this wouldn’t be an issue since there was a cover, but the urine would hit the cover and then run down the outside of the litter box and sit on the mat underneath it. It was contained, but was always a pain to clean up. I tried placing doggie pee pads under the box which worked but I still had to throw those out almost every day and my cats weren’t happy that that weren’t called kitty pee pads. This box solved the issue. No more pee outside the box.It is easy enough to scoop except for the occasional time when they pee next to the grate… that area is a little harder to reach with the scoop but not enough that I would not recommend the product. It has also cut down significantly on the litter tracked outside the box. When someone invents a box that has zero tracking I will give them all my money, but so far my retirement fund is safe because this product doesn’t exist.I bought an extra large dog crate liner (hard plastic with an elevated edge) that I place the litter boxes on and that contains 90% of the tracked litter (which is minimal) and that can be easily swept up, so I am not too frustrated with it at this point.Bottom line… if you have a cat with less than perfect squatting ability, this is your answer.
