Still to this day it is one one the best looking and well build head units on the market.Looks amazing, simple sleek and sounds incredible. Great ready to spend some time learning how to use it, but once it’s set up it is easy.Make sure you get a decent amp to run this setup, which is best suited to an active setup with front component speakers plus sub.You dial in the speaker frequency responses, and then run the auto setup using the microphone supplied which does some magic and configures all the setting for you to get the perfect levels. You press go and step outside of the car for 5 minutes whilst it dials everything in, testing each speaker and setting the levels. So cool!!So after a long time wiring everything in, a quick 5 minute auto setup, I now have the best sounding sound system in the car I’ve ever had. I’m not going for earth shattering bass, but instead sound quality and volume without distortion. And this does an incredible job.

Sadly I had to send mine back but only because it was sold as new and had clearly been used before, it even came with a Pink Floyd CD in it..Amazon refunded straight away and I got another one.An amazing unit, steep learning curve but the functionality is out of this world. I run mine with a 5channel front amp and a Mono Bass Amp and the flexibility of setup options is top class - no need for any other external processor.The best parts are - totally ott control of the crossover points - total control of all equalisation settings - the sound quality is as expected for a reference class unit.If you are looking for a fit and forget (once you spend a week setting it up) head unit then this is worth every single penny and they are getting harder and harder to find now.

This stereo is not everyone's cup of tea. Its an AWESOME stereo to a degree for sound quality, build quality and design possibly above the rest. It allows you to run your system active etc. Just lacks certain functions.Firstly it has no internal amp, only Four RCA outputs for external amplifier(s).For some reason Pioneer have decided not include a amplifier for the Western / EU Market, while in the East it comes with a 6 channel amplifier model P01 is included as standard, it loses a star for that.It has Four RCA outputs1) High output designed for tweeters plays from 800hz upwards.2) Mid Range Output plays 25hz -20khz3) Low Range Outputs plays 25hz -20khz4) Sub-woofer 16Khz and belowIt is known for its high 31 band equaliser and many octave settings but Pioneer have not included an option to use Mid Range for front and Low Range for rear. It only has Left/Right balance no Front/Rear fader, loses one star.It will not work with an Android Device it will read "device not recognised" only Apple devices it loses one star. .I've had many Pioneer Car Stereos which have allowed me to simply select OFF for the sub-woofer, may be I couldn't find that function so I will not deduct a star for that.It has no built in Bluetooth. With Bluetooth available in micro/nano devices there is no excuse for Pioneer not to include it from factory or build it in. An additional device must be purchased, looses one star.It has customisable colours but only on surround not the main screen which remains (white).All else is TOP NOTCH.
