As another reviewer mentioned, it can be confusing that this comes as a single dowel, though the image shows a group. However, it was perfect for my purpose. I wanted a tall, lightweight wooden dowel to record my children's heights with a marker, as a version of the old doorjamb markings for a more mobile generation. This was a great inexpensive choice for that use.

The piece came packaged and intact. Very sturdy and made well but just keep in mind this is one dowel. I was thrown off by the picture because it shows a package of dowels. Price is a bit high for one dowel piece.
