You will have to remove the chip from the old empty toner cartridge and insert into the new toner cartridge. The new toner cartridge will ALWAYS read EMPTY by your HP laserjet, so you will have to manually over-ride the printer each time you print, because the printer will think that the toner cartridge is EMPTY since the chip came from an EMPTY toner cartridge. Note that the website contains no warning for this.

Aside from having to switch the microchip over to the new toner cartridge, the quality is great and it sure beats spending twice to three times as much for OEM parts.
