fairly easy to install
Overall I'm very satisfied. The springs on my 10 year old chairs were getting so weak I thought I'd have to get rid of them soon. People would sit down and tip backwards unexpectedly making them feel like they were going to fall over backwards. These new spring plates will give the chairs a few more years. As other people have commented they're not that strong and by themselves weren't much better than the springs I replaced. On my chairs they'd work fine for people weighing less that about 150, but for anyone heavier they didn't quite do the job. I wound up putting the old plates back on under the new plates so they were a double thickness and that's worked perfectly. Some people have commented that you might need to buy new bolts, but in my case the existing bolts were long enough. They were pretty easy to install. I used the old plates as a template to drill holes through the new ones so that it matches the fittings on my chair. I recommend them....but also recommend you keep the old plates until you're sure you won't still need them.

Wish they were stiffer
The springs helped stiffen my outdoor rockers but not as much as I thought they would. Installing them was easy, though I wish I’d worn gloves when drilling holes. Fiberglass shards stuck to my hands like cactus spikes until I got the last ones out.

So far so good, like new
20 year old chairs are like new. I put a piece of scrap 2x4 underneath two springs, put the old spring on top and clamped it down to the table to drill the new holes. Worked great with no splinters. About 20 minutes to do 4 chairs.

Quick & easy fix for rocking patio chairs!!
All fixed in just 15 minutes! After I figured out that it was these plates that were worn out and making the rocking on our patio chairs go too far back. It was super easy to replace. I just unscrewed the old ones used them as a template to drill hold in new plates and screwed it all back together. As good as new and don’t have to replace these expensive nice metal patio chairs! Great solution.

Did the job.
Our patio chairs were getting old and did not have the flexibility they had before. When you would lean back on them you felt like you were going to tip over. My son-in-law said order the parts and He would install them. Got them in a few days and he installed them. Chairs are like new again. Just be aware you have to drill the holes in the replacement parts.

You'll need a drill
I didn't expect to have to drill holes. The replacement was not the same sizevas the OEM. This lead to some issues during install.
