Brought the white light, they are so bright, I can read under them easily, they are like lights in a surgery or something similar. Maybe a little to bright and clinical looking, but rather that than too dull

OK, not the cheapest to run or the 'greenist' of bulbs but if you have a dark area with small windows that doesn't need 24/7 lighting, these are excellent. They remind me of the old 100w incandescent bulbs.

This is the second set of these lamps I have purchased. First set appear to have been reliable, light output is good. Would be happy to buy them again.

Despite another review, in my opinion I believe these lights are the equivalent of 200w or thereabouts.The problem with them though is that the fitting neck is too short, this is fine when used with a fixture with a short, wide insulation sleeve such as a ceiling light but when tried with my table lamp, which normally have longer sleeves, the bulb won't fit, so you have to remove the sleeve. It's too short by literally something like 2mm. Maybe my lamps have longer sleeves than others but someone else mentioned this so it's not solely my lamp but I believe a subtle design error.As I'll be using this mostly in a fitted ceiling fixture, they'll be fine, but be warned.Other than that, they were good value - getting three in the pack.So 3 1/2 stars.

Our conservatory turned playroom needed brighter lights and these certainly did the trick. I would highly recommend them as despite being poorly located and partially obscured two are enough to light up a fair sized room st night.

I bought a pack of three of these, 6000 K daylight version, for use in two outside light fittings illuminating my front drive (leaving one spare for use elsewhere in the house). These corn lamps are the latest surface mounted diode technology, not yet available in shops - credit to Amazon for making them available.A particular good point about using in an outside location is the fact that they reach full brilliance immediately. Previously I used compact source fluorescent lamps in this location - in frosty weather they could be a bit slow in coming up to full brightness. That's OK for a bedroom, but on an outside drive full brightness immediately is important. Not what one would describe as a "warm" light but personally I like my lights to be white, not yellow - better colour rendering. Can't vouch for longevity - it will take time to tell.
