Coleman 70-Quart Xtreme 5-Day Heavy-Duty Cooler, Tan

I've owned a Yeti 105, Yeti 45, OtterBox and Cabela's Polar Cap... All roto-molded and high dollar. They were great coolers, but 3 of them were stolen over the course of a few years and one leaked from the drain plug.When I started my search this time, I just decided to go "cheap" and hope for the best. Honestly, the 6-10 day ice retention thing is nice, but 99% of the time I only need a 2-3 day cooler. I didn't wanna break the bank again; only to be disappointed when another expensive cooler goes missing or just lets me down. Once I've spent over a few hundred bucks, I have extremely high standards and expectations from a cooler. More often than not, I'm disappointed - like the time I returned the expensive OtterBox because the drain plug leaked all over my SUV.Anyhow, at the price on Amazon ($45), with a retail value if $70, I would absolutely pay 70 if I had to buy this Coleman again. It's not super fancy, but it's sturdy and well-built. The lid seals good and it hold ice VERY well.I recently drive from Kentucky to Texas over the course of 48 hours... This cooler was full of frozen food (chicken breast, fish, etc...) that I needed for two weeks worth of work on an oil rig. I bought 2 of the large IGLOO brand ice packs and loaded them frozen beside all the food items. There was only room for a 7 on bag of ice, but I packed it tight and prayed for the best. Once I reached my destination and after I had opened the cooler several times throughout the trip, I decided to drain the water from the melted ice before I took the cooler inside... There wasn't a single drop, so I thought the drain was plugged. Upon further inspection, I was amazed to find that none of the ice had melted!! This thing is exactly what I needed and I'm really glad I found what I was looking for at a price point under $50.Will buy again! Not sure how long it'll last, but I'd guess at least a few years. Very happy with my purchase!

We have a family cabin..it's very remote and rustic with no electricity or running water. The only modern convenience is a doll house sized gas refrigerator from the 1950's. One of the biggest challenges for having our gatherings and/or for extended stays has always been food storage.. until now! I purchased this Coleman 70 quart cooler in the hopes that I would have Ice for drinks and that it would be good food storage for least 3 days and it did not disappoint. First I cooked , sealed and froze our meals (shout out to insta-pot and seal a meal) then I pre-chilled the new cooler with ice from my freezer and the cooler shock packs (see photo) one day before loading it with the our food and because we had a very early departure for our trip, I packed our food the night before we left. I loaded 9 lbs of cubed ice on either end and our frozen food in the middle and I had plenty of room for bread & lunch meat etc on top. The weather the week of our trip was 75 during the day and approx 50 at night and I kept the cooler inside and out of the sun and rotated the cooler shock packages from top to bottom to keep them cold and it worked like a charm....our food stayed frozen/and cold and fresh and there was plenty of ice for drinks...as a matter of fact I had a little un-melted ice 7 days later when we returned home..as seen in the photo above....no joke! This cooler is affordable and it works.

I needed a couple of these for a birthday party, and while I've been intrigued by premium coolers like those from Yeti, I just couldn't justify the price. I've had other Coleman coolers before, and this was a brand I trusted.So, the party went well in 90 degree sun, and when everyone was gone, I decided I was too tired to empty them out. The next day, I was just too lazy to deal with it. By the third day, I figured it was high time to be a responsible adult. (Oh, at this point, I should probably mention that there was no food in the coolers. Just cans of beer and soft drinks.)Imagine my surprise when I found that there was still ice in the coolers! The drinks were still cold, but after three days in August, and a full day of being open and shut, I still had ice! I was really impressed.Overall, the build quality is great, the top seals shut with a satisfying "thunk" and allegedly, these can hold up to 300 pounds if you want to use them as a seat. I really liked that they were super light to move around, and probably the easiest cooler ever to drain.If I had to come up with something negative, it would be... nothing. I even liked the color.An excellent cooler, and a great price. I've already recommended this model to friends. You won't be disappointed.

I really like this product. It initially arrived with a dent in it due to shipping and handling, for which Amazon of course resolved immediately.The color is very ideal. Realize that for the price, it's a really good product. Don't expect it to keep things tremendously ice cold because it's got an average level of insulation, but for the price it's ideal. I was delighted that the hinges don't squeak, the handles seem rather durable, and if you're not a terribly heavy person you might be able to sit on top of it briefly. Size-wise, you'll have a challenge putting this into a small trunk that can only hold a golf bag. Otherwise, it should be able to fit into nearly any trunk. I spent A LOT of time shopping for an ice chest and I'm glad I finally found one. I would definitely buy or recommend this to anyone looking for an average-level in size and quality ice chest who is price conscious.F

Nice, big, and simple! Unless you are expecting bears to attack or kayaking down a river for a week you really only need a cooler like this. It keeps things cold for days. We’ve maintained steady ice when staying all day on the beach with it and then bringing it poolside without shade. If you can try to keep it in the shade or aren’t under extreme heat conditions it will keep things cold for days without replenishing ice. Love the cup holders and sturdy lid to sit on. Handles definitely make it easier to transport. This was my frugal gut instinct choice and after dredging through the reviews of all the other crazy options we settled on this one instead of forking over hundreds for something we didn’t actually “need”. :)

The size description is wrong. The width and height are reversed. We were looking for one that was wide enough to fit our roaster which is 15 inches wide. We understood that this one was wide enough but it wasn't.
