Great for the price! (Al’s honest reviews)
Al’s honest reviews - I try to write the sort of review I would want to read!Hi! I bought 2 packs of 4 bulbs of these EnShine GU10s to add to my smart home set-up.I wanted them mainly for security purposes, turning lights on and off when not in the house etc. But I also like the fun/chillaxing aspect of creating some mood lighting, colour scenes etc.- Packaging: good first impression, each bulb individually boxed within the main box. Instructions on the side of the box plus leaflet inside.- Setup: depending on how experienced you are with smart devices (and bulbs can be a pain sometimes), the setup was really easy. Don’t worry too much about the 2.4ghz stuff, more than likely your Wifi will pick these up no problems. App download and adding each bulb was easy, you can name each bulb individually to keep them organised.Integration with Alexa (my chosen smart-home overlord) was very straightforward too. In the Alexa app, enable the correct skill and then ask it to discover new devices. I had my EnShine bulbs switching on and off and changing colours at voice command within a few minutes of unpacking. You can then begin adding them to groups, routines etc.- App: Adequate. You can name all the individual bulbs, change the colour and brightness, and do a bit of automation. It is pretty basic when compared to others (LIFX, Philips Hue etc.) and I only really used it for the setup, Alexa then being the main control for these bulbs. There are brightness sliders and a colour wheel.- Brightness: ... Ah. This is where the price point begins to “shine” through (or not...) When these bulbs are any of the different shades of white, they are perfectly adequate. With GU10 spots there are usually several together in any room/area, so it all looks quite bright when they’re all set to white, and I couldn’t see much difference to the standard LEDs I removed. The brightness range is not as effective as the more expensive bulbs, but it is when you start changing colours that the difference is really clear. There are many different colour settings via the App (a colour wheel lets you mess about with hundreds of options), but even on full brightness the bulbs seem to lose a bit of power when set to greens, reds, blues etc. I’ve got them in a bathroom with the idea of setting some spa-type lighting, but when the 3 spots are all set to blue for example it’s quite hard to see anything! It does work though, could just do with being brighter/more intense colour.- Conclusion: I’ve already got some of the more “premium” brands of smart light, so comparing the EnShine bulbs to those is inevitable. The only real disadvantage they have against the more expensive brands is their brightness when they are set to anything other than white. That said, odds are most people will keep them white for most of the time, and the colour capability is certainly there, it’s just not very bright. From an integration (and so security) point of view, they are absolutely fine.I haven’t had any bulb disconnects yet, probably a matter of time though as this happens with the more expensive brands. All in all, for the price though, buying these is certainly a “bright” idea ;) I would give 4.5 stars if I could, but decided on 5 stars when taking into account the price (I got them when they were on sale). Thanks!

Good smart blub
Arrived on time, bit if a challenge to connect, but that was my fault, these blubs will only do what you tell them to do so if there not connecting check your procedures. They're very good on warm white, all the whites are good, the colours, well, theu change colour but not very bright, anyway, didnt get them for that. Value for money, yes, compared to buying thrm in the likes of b&q, well, theres no comparison, overall, good, ive taken one star off as the colours arent very bright.

Simplicity and functionality in one (But buy multiples instead of packs as it's cheaper!)
D'oh colour me stupid, single bulb price £5, or a pack of 4 for £25.69, I stupidly didn't check when ordering and went for the pack, so that is £5+ wasted for nothing! So be careful when ordering!!!I was dubious about buying 'smart' light bulbs due to some of the issues reported in reviews. However, these are so simple to set up it is untrue.I replaced the old bulbs with four of these in the same light. They started to flash when the switch was turned on. Downloaded the Smartlife app, and then added them to my wifi (which is Virgin, Super hub3, 5ghz enabled, and wham after a few seconds each bulb was added.)The only slight niggle I had was working out how to group them together, which is oddly hidden behind editing the bulb's details, but then you can add a group and stick them in there. Added them to Google Home through Smartlife and it was seamless... I found that in Google home it was simpler to add them as a new custom room rather than add them along with my other smart lights as they all come on or go off, so a separate 'room' then allows them to be controlled on their own.White is bright, colours are a little muted, but you'd expect that, and I wanted them as the light is too bright for my room anyway! Seems annoying that the music feature is only from the same device that controls them in Smartlife, so that seems redundant. Google home only gives a subset of colour options, but can control the full brightness. Weirdly after grouping them within Smart Life you seem to lose the colour and brightness control from that app? Seems pointless, who wants to control multiple bulbs every single time?!All in all for £25 for 4 these seem decent and will serve my purposes well...
