Product comes with gloves and clear instructions on how to use.Does the job and will fix holes adequately. Great for a temporary repair although will probably last a bit longer too.Once opened and especially when soaked in water it will need to be used very quickly, so suggest the area is prepped before opening this product.Silver foil is just there to protect the cure can be removed after.

For $20, I would definitely recommend this heat wrap as a good temporary fix! As you can see in my photos, my minivan had a rusted out area on the catalytic converter lead-in pipe, right where its flange attaches to the exhaust manifold (nearer to the engine). The flange was not completed detached, which gave the tape somewhere to grip onto on both sides of the rust hole. Wrapped around easily while lying under the vehicle, after following instructions exactly. It was a bit hard to wrap the foil tape around, because my gloved hands were still a bit wet (I guess I should've dried them off or taken the gloves off). The foil tape doesn't really do anything, but keep the heat tape secure while it cures. I then dried it for about 15 minutes with a heat gun and ran the car for an hour in near-freezing outside temperatures.For a week, it was as quiet as new, driving about 15 minutes daily, but then after going on the highway for a few minutes, it became noticeably louder. It was still super quiet compared to without the heat tape, but it became noticeably louder. I looked under the car and it was still firmly attached. I also noticed that steam would be coming from it after a drive. Not sure what that was?The kit is great, as it comes with almost everything you need. I say "almost", because in addition to disposable gloves for installation of the heat tape, they give you a tiny piece of sandpaper to clean off the rust... you definitely should use a big wire brush to prep your area before application! Get as much rust off as you can before applying.Update: Lasted for over a year... I sold the car I put it on, but it was still holding up.

This product is amazing! My muffler broke in 2 places on my Honda CR-V. I went to a place to get an estimate for repair and was told at least $1500! I both didn't have the money and the car wasn't worth the investment! After seeing an add for this I thought I'd give it a shot! I tried using one roll on one break first to test it. It did not hold and I was disappointed but knew it told me to wrap at least 6-7 times around the break and I only did 2-3. I also didn't realize heat helped cure the tape so I just let it sit vs running my car afterwards to let it heat up. I tried again but this time used 3 rolls to make sure I had a solid 6-7 wraps around it and spread out, then turned my car on to heat up the tape. This time there was a lot of smoke coming from the area of the tape and I got worried it was not going to work. But it seemed to be what happens when the tape was curing as after one day there was no more smoke and the tape turned hard and held up! I recently replaced the other spot that was broken again with 3 rolls just to be safe and so far so good! I saved almost $1400 with this stuff. (If it doesn't work or get hard for you you did not do it correctly or you got a defective tape, It can take a few times to get it perfect but if you do exactly as they say this stuff can save you too!) only down side is I needed to buy 3 rolls for each break... I wish they had options for a larger piece for jobs like mine! I highly recommend!

Like everything else we buy I wish there was just a little more but…It did exactly what I needed it for and more. I have a hole in atv exhaust about 2” and I was able to wrap that part a few times to seal it up as well as a split in bottom of the muffler section I have enough to wrap around most it.Will buy again as I need a little more.Recommend this product
