The media could not be loaded. I am a first time handpan buyer, but I have wanted one for over a decade. Only very recently have affordable models started to come out, so I finally decided to try one out. I have no other pans to compare it to, but I've been a professional musician for many years and I'm quite impressed with the quality and sound of this instrument. It was easy to take it out of the box and just start playing. All of the notes speak pretty easily with a light touch, and as I'm improving with my hand technique, the sound only becomes bigger and richer. I am extremely excited to use this instrument in recordings, performances, and just for enjoyment. Very impressive, a lovely instrument for the price! The video above are my first noodlings after opening it up!EDIT- A few months of playingI stand by my initial review of this pan, that it is a great instrument for the price, however, I would like to adjust some of my glowing statements.-The pan is not perfectly in tune. It's close, but I felt like it drifted the more I played (maybe I'm a heavy hitter, maybe I just started hearing it and noticing it more). The tuning on a few notes ended up irritating me enough over time to encourage me to try tuning it myself. While I have made progress on my quest to understand how the pan is tuned, I very much DO NOT recommend trying to tune it yourself if you don't want to render your instrument worse than where it is currently at. Over the course of months, I've remedied a few notes, while making others worse. Ultimately, I don't regret that I'm learning a new skill, but I did end up getting another pan so that this one can be the one I tinker with.The second pan I purchased was a more expensive Asteman model (the blue 11 note design). The tuning is still imperfect, though it is definitely better than on the first pan. This one also has the brand name stamped on it while the first did not. The second pan cost more, but I would say it's objectively of higher quality and intonation- this is a better fit for my studio work.Ultimately this instrument fulfilled my expectations taking a chance on an affordable handpan- it also got me super excited to dive deeper. After working with it for a time, I realized I wanted something a little better. I still think this is a good deal for someone looking to get their feet wet, but ultimately, I went for a better model. Based on the new model, I'd still recommend the Asteman brand, though with a better idea of what to expect.

I wanted another drum that was made in Switzerland but the price was a bit steep. After researching these instruments extensively, I decided to take a chance on this one. It costs less than 25% of what the other one would have cost me and has a beautiful sound to it. I am so happy that I decided to purchase this drum instead!

It sounds great

I've had this pan for a month and a couple of the larger notes are already out of tune. Granted, I've been hitting it somewhat heavily with my palms and that's probably not the standard use case, but I expect a higher end pan would be able to withstand it.

I just had to order a replacement because the first one came way out of tune. I'll write a review on the next one. If it's out of tune as well I would avoid this company and buy a better handpan! SECOND REVIEW...I received my second handpan and it's better than the first. One note rings a tiny bit out of tune but not too bad. A decent handpan for beginners and price.

Awesome drum! Reasonable in price and sounds so pretty.

Attractive piece, sounds nice...something got on it and that thin varnish came off in one spot...no biggie...it would have worn off after playing and doesn't affect the tone at all.
