KUBEYRaven KB245B Folding Pocket Knife

This is a great knife! I wanted this knife due due the AUS10 blade, a steel that I have little experience with. Plus admittedly it's a attractive knife.The knife is really quite a deal. So the "synthetic material" scales are either G10 or something quite similar. They're a touch slick but still allow good enough traction. They also have a secure hold in conjunction with the pocket clip, even on slippery pants such as basketball shorts. But it's ergonomic while looking nice.The blade looks a touch thin in comparison to the knife itself. But it's thin behind the edge and slices very well! It did come scary sharp also. I've opened some boxes, cut up some plastic on various items and cut down some cardboard with it and I'm impressed. AUS10 seems like it holds up quite well. I understand that it's comparable to 440c but tougher, and I'd have to agree with that thus far. (BTW I own knives with many different steels. Let's say from AUS6 to Maxamet lol)Also, the action is slick and crisp with a well placed detent. It's a linerlock on bearings so of course it's fast when flicked. It's tight enough to ensure that it will not open in your pocket though. It's a winner in this category.Overall I'd say that this knife is a fantastic value for it's price. I docked 1 star for sturdiness which is understandable. But it's a knife that's absolutely worth considering if you're looking for a longer knife that will tackle most jobs thrown at it!

Not sure what the deal is but the black g10 Raven knife I received is not the same as in pics. The one in pics shows them having jimping on the spine on the thumb cutout. The one I received does not. I was expecting jimping on the spine like shown in pics and on YouTube reviews. Perhaps the seller should show pics what exactly buyers are getting and kubey needs to stop making constant changes on specific knife designs and end up resulting in shortcuts. Not the first kubey I bought where a knife ended up different than what's shown on reviews etc but it's the last kubey I'll ever purchase because you never know what your gonna get do to constant design changes.

Overall, this is an awesome blade but I am very disappointed that the photos don’t represent what you are sending your customers the photos clearly show jumping on the blade but the blade I received does not have it. That was one of the selling pointsFor me and it’s extremely disappointing. But the blade is nice and it has good quality steel but it’s just disappointing that the images aren’t what you’re sending your customer.

The Kubey Raven is a solid, well built knife with some very nice G10 and AUS10 blade steel. Although it may not look very ergonomic, I assure you, it fits the hand very well, especially larger hands. I really like the long, slender profile that is easy to carry and big enough to cut through large green peppers in one cut. Although you can use it for the task, this is no short stubby box cutter.

I was sent a completely wrong item than what I paid for and expected... this is NOT even the right color or blade color than what I chose and ordered. And this was a Christmas gift which was VERY disappointing.. All that being said, the knife that I Was sent is actually pretty nice. Good construction and excellent blade retention as the blade says that it’s still AUS10. That’s the reason I bought the one I expected.Overall, I’d give this 2/5 stars because I did not even receive the right knife. But the one I did get feels and looks good and the Kubey company seems sturdy.I reordered the knife and it should be arriving today. I might also be returning the Wrong knife I received.

Amazing edc knife! If you like a longer blade then this knife is for you! Fits great in my hand! Snaps open nice and has a great drop shut!

This knife is one of my faves! If they made a more premium version I would buy 3.

Amazing knife with great smooth action...sharp as expected and good quality

Ich sammele seit vielen Jahren Messer, hauptsächlich von angesehenen europäischen und amerikanischen Herstellern. Ab und zu lasse ich mich von überschwänglichen Bewertungen dazu hinreissen, hier das ein oder andere billige Chinamesser zu bestellen. Bis jetzt waren das ausschließlich mehr oder weniger totale Reinfälle. Fragwürdige Materialien treffen auf windige Verarbeitung und haarsträubende Designfehler. "Edlen Stahl" gabs ausser im Namen nie...Daher hatte ich keine wirklichen Erwartungen als ich das Kubey bestellt hatte---und wurde aufs positivste überrascht.Das Messer ist einfach nur top.- Alle Kanten perfekt entgratet, selbst an den kritischen Stellen.- Passgenaue und wackelfreie Grifschalen mit ausgezeichneter Ergonomie- Super polierte und perfekt geschliffene Klinge.- Seidiger Klingenlauf und spielfreies Lager. Das Teil flippert wie die Hölle.- Perfekte Zentrierung- Solide und dennoch leichtgängie VerriegelungDer verwendete D2 Stahl ist natürlich kein Highend Stahl, aber angemessen und bei etwas Pflege durchaus haltbar. Dazu noch relativ leicht zu schärfen. Dass D2 nicht vollständig rostfrei ist, sollte jedem bekannt sein. Er ist aber auch nicht super empfindlich. Nach Kontakt mit Wasser und insbesondere mit Säure abwischen und gut ist. Etwas Öl ab und zu schadet auch nicht.Fazit:Einfach ein tolles Messer. Beim Stahl geht noch mehr, aber was die Verarbeitung angeht, bekommt man auch für den 5 fachen Preis nichts deutlich besseres. Für den aufgerufenen Preis ist das Teil sensationell gut. Mittlerweile habe ich noch 3 andere Kubey und die Qualität ist bei allen klasse.

Nach den vielen Lobgesängen zu Kubey-Messern habe ich mir dieses KB245 mal geleistet; für 60 Euro hatte ich auch meine Erwartungen. Diese wurden leider enttäuscht, das Messer ist nicht wirklich scharf, Papier wird nur gerissen. Die Ergonomie des Griffes ist schlecht gemacht, für meine sicher durchschnittlich großen Männerhände finde ich einfach keine richtige Position an diesem Stielchen. Klappmechanismus auch ungenügend, man muss hier schon ordentlich mit einem kräftigen Ruck durchziehen, damit die Klinge auch arretiert. Für den aufgerufenen Preis gibt es bessere Messer.
