Okay tea-very small tea leaves
I really wanted to enjoy this tea but it just wasn’t what I thought it would be. The taste is okay but a little bitter for me. I also was surprised by the ground up tea leaves I got. If you enjoy brewing up loose leaf tea, like me, buy this brand of tea in the bags instead.**the tea leaves on the left are the Ceylon I normally buy, the ones on the right are the Yorkshire Gold tea leaves.

I knew it was too good to be true
This household goes through a lot of loose leaf tea, almost exclusively of the Taylor's of Harrogate brand. Yes we have and continue to experiment or sample other brands and types of teas, but the Taylor's of Harrogate line has been our primary domain.,So, for instance right now, after having dug them out from the pantry, am staring at cans for Afternoon Darjeeling (yes), Tea Room Blend (not my taste), Assam Estate Leaf Tea (yes, yes), Scottish Breakfast (not really) and English (our standby, of late) and, for the first time in donkey's years, the Earl Gray (surprisingly enjoyable).Amazon served this tea up to me as a purchase suggestion which puzzled me because I haven't ever bought it and I don't buy the journeyman teas the likes of lipton's and others of that ilk. I bought it though. Mostly on price and my surprise that it is a Taylor's of Harrogate product it made me think that even at such a cheap price it could be a good cup of tea. It is not, frankly. At least not to my taste. The bag that came looked a little the worse for wear which may help to explain the bad bit which is that the tea itself is an unprepossessing mass of little crumbs and balls of the crushed leaf. It looks almost dusty, which means that a bit of it escapes into the cup or pot one brews it in. Sipping dregs is not an enjoyable cup of tea.The flavor is a bit woody or muddled and I don't care for it. This is an early impression so it is possible the flavor will grow on me, but I don't think so. While the tea does have a floral note when smelled dry it has a sharp aftertaste that hints at the woody aftertaste of the brewed leaf.If you are looking for a tea with relatively high caffeine content, this one will do, as I definitely sense a charge of energy after drinking a cup.Based on this experience I would steer you away from this product and toward Taylor's of Harrogates other loose leaf teas. In the greater scheme of things their greater monetary cost is insignificant in the face of the far superior flavor these other teas yield. The named estate teas are a special treat.

Very fine powder
I thought I was getting loose leaf tea (Yorkshire Tea) and I was very excited as I get Yorkshire Tea in bags - years and years - and I love it. But I got fine powder instead and it’s weak even if you brew it long and it looks fake somehow. The brew tastes different, too. So I wonder. These last few orders from Amazon I’ve wondered if somebody is fudging something somewhere somehow.

Lovely British Tea!
Lovely tea. I saw an interview Liam Nielsen gave one time and he bemoaned the "fact" he couldn't get his favorite tea Yorkshire Gold in the US. Too bad he is so protected that he never heard of Amazon. This tea is wonderful for breakfast giving a wonderful flavor and uplift without any bitterness sometimes imparted by other breakfast like teas.I've been drinking this and their Yorkshire tea (red label) for several years - rotating between the two depending on sale prices which fluctuate somewhat on Amazon. Just wish they had this in a decaf version for my iced tea...I purchase either the kilo or 8.8 oz depending on price/availability and store the unused tea in an airtight container to preserve flavor once the bag is opened.

If you're used to great loose leaf tea, give this a pass
Having seen that Sir Patrick Stewart said good things about Yorkshire Gold, I thought I'd give it a try. Very disappointed. This is not a premium quality tea, just run of the mill teabag tea sold in "loose leaf" form. The tea is CTC (crush tear curl), very small pieces with lots of fannings and dust. There is no subtlety in the flavor. This tea is going into the back of my tea shelf, where it will probably sit until it grows old and I put it in the compost.

excellent value & quality
Having grown up doing tea all proper-like, in a tea pot with loose leaves, I was used to using a tea strainer. For those used to tea bagged tea, this might be a step you're not prepared for. I personally am trying to get away from the chemicals that can leach out from the tea bags themselves. The tea leaves are small, like granules when dry, but that means you need not put as much in the put to get a flavorful full-bodies cup of tea. I typically put a heaped tablespoon of the tea in a large tea pot (the kind that can hold up to 8 cups of water, or 4 mugs). I will buy again when I see it on a good price. Noticed that Amazon most likely has an algorithm application that seems to adjust prices based on demand.

A good value for your money; it always seems to arrive late by several days
Like others here, I tend to be a bit of a self-confessed tea 'snob.' Why not, though? the Cofeeistas all vaunt and thrust about. America is not a country much enamored of tea (though the rest of the world is); what a shame.I have bought this tea for several years for early morning draughts of the delicious reddish-brown tea it delivers. I buy other, much more expensive teas for use later in the day, when I am more awake and less concerned with something to kick me into gear. That may make it sound like I consider this 'fuel,' which I don't. It is really good basic tasty tea. Nothing fancy, mind you: but a good solid value for your money, far surpassing anything you can otherwise buy from the shelves of your local store. Twinings, for example, tastes like mud alongside this! All that said, I don't think I have ever ordered this tea that it arrives on time as scheduled. Not sure why this is the case, but it means on a pretty consistent basis that whenever I order the tea, I have about 2 weeks of tea left and always run out before the next bags arrive as scheduled. Maybe UPS is at fault, or maybe the seller, or maybe customs, or everyone of the above. At any rate, if you like it as I do, be sure to order it a good month to six weeks ahead of when you expect it, or, like me, you will be falling back on those inferior brews for 10 days while waiting for somebody, somewhere to do their job correctly and deliver this very nice product to you, the impatient customer, and to me.

Super
I've recently changed from tea bags to loose tea and struggled to get supplies locally so am thrilled that I found this. Very fast delivery, robust packaging so it arrived in tip top condition. The flavour is even better than the bags plus no danger of ingesting plastic or it going into the environment (teabags have plastic in them in case you didn't know). Another plus point is that the used tea makes an excellent mulch for the garden.

Unterdurchschnittlich
