Concise Inorganic Chemistry

A great book for learning the basics of Inorganic Chemistry
This is a book which helps creating interest in Inorganic Chemistry. Once interest is generated, hard work follows like a natural course leading to success.

Nice, pleasant book
I like this book, because one dosent feel like the author tries to put in more or less irrelevant stuff to make the text take up more pages, like it can be seen in some books of American origin. I bought it on the nice reviews instead of the pensum-recommended book, Housecroft, and Im not disappointed at all. However, I cant give it 6 stars, since I havent read it all, and dont know the covering of all the subjects.

Fantastic!
This is surely the best and most interesting introduction to inorganic chemistry that I have come across. If this does not get you interested in the subject, I don't know what will. I have been using this book for almost six years now. I have used it to prepare for entrance exams, for college and university courses and for general reading. It starts with an overview of basic principles of bonding and trends in the periodic table. The rest of the book is then devoted to the discussion of individual groups of elements. But this is no drab discussion where paragraphs with the title "uses of X" where X is an element, abound. Lee instead focuses on the most essential and interesting properties of the elements. As the title indicated, the discussion is concise, but never compromises on the essentials. The applications of inorganic chemical science which Lee chooses are most interesting and pervade all aspects of our material existence. He gives due importance to special topics such as Pollution, Bioinorganic Chemistry, The Atomic Nucleus and Spectra. He mixes the right blend of theory and application in this work. In fact, its such a pleasure to read this book, that it actually makes good bedtime reading! Its one of those very few technical books which you can read casually. Many 'other' chemists find inorganic chemistry boring. However, an understanding of its basic principles is of paramount importance to a study of any other chemical dicipline, not to mention its inherently interesting ideas, and its application to the material world. This book shows you how.

It is good!
I bought j d lee as a reference guide in my study towards IIT(indian institute of technology). But I find myself so involved in the book. The books explanations on the periodic elements is simply great. It really kindles me to read the book.

So its good for person have time to read and want to ...
It does not contains solution and not even answers. There are just 10-15 questions whose answers are not even given so how to know what I have done is correct or not. So its good for person have time to read and want to get knowledge in deep. It is not authored especially for jee examination but its deep theory helps to clear the concept. But remember it does not contains questions for much practice.

Good!
The information given is clear to understand. I just am worried about the numbering of groups in the book. The black and white pic is from this book and i suppose the groups are wrongly named. Couldn't find another way to contact the publisher, so am mentioning in my feedback! The coloured picture gives the correct group numbers.
