Made in France
Great quality. Pride in craftmanship. I am glad I did not have to replace my beloved, weighty, exceptionally well crafted KPF690 base which I bought in 2006. This fits it perfectly. It takes a few times to break in the locking mechanism. My only beef is that it only comes in white, I needed black. I'm glad they're still making replacement parts like these for the old style processors because all of the engineering and research that went into such a high quality product like this (the base) would be a shame to throw away because of the plastic top not holding up (not to mention the impact on the environment and your wallet as well). I would give all KitchenAid Products MADE IN FRANCE (or anywhere that can make them to this quality standard) TEN STARS if I could.

Poor manufacturing quality control
The bowl is mechanically interlocked with the lid. There were molding spurs inside the lock area and I had to carve them out with a knife before we could close the lid so that the motor could run. Considering the price, this was inexcusable.

Fixed my old Food Processor
The work bowl handle on my old food processor became loose and sort of detached. Since something in the handle makes the machine turn on it was becoming more and more difficult to get the darn thing to work. I was sort of hoping to buy a new KitchenAid processor on sale this month at Costco - but decided I should try to fix my old one first... a much more economical decision. :( The new work bowl is kind of "stiff" (hard to get on and off the base) and I have to work at it a little - but all in all it makes my old machine work fine. I made the right decision.

Works good
I have a 12 + year old KFP580 11 cup food processor. This bowl does fit that food processor. Like others have stated its a little stiff with the new cover I purchased with it. I think it's the cover that's the problem. To remedy that I can lightly file the offending piece down. The only qualm I have with this item is the handle. It doesn't come with the white grip part on the outside as pictured. I'll take the one off the old work bowl. I don't know if it is meant to be replaced that way time & again as eventually that part is going to fail.... I would think it would come with a new handle grip piece as part of the handle assembly. ???? Overall very happy to even find replacement parts for a still perfectly good food processor. The cover was the KitchenAid 4176263 Bowl Cover.

9 Cup Not An 11 Cup Bowl
The description is for an 11 cup bowl that will fit the KFP600. Instead, this is a 9 cup bowl. Right on the box it says it is for the KPF500 - the 9 cup model. Furthermore, the bowl interior measures approx. 3.5 inches in height with a radius of approx. 3.75 inches - do the math, that works out to around 9 cups in volume (a little over, which I assume is made up for by the opening in the middle of the bowl for the post).I can only assume that the reason that some people with a KPF600 accept this bowl is that it will indeed fit the processor and will allow the use of the chopper blade, which sits on the bottom. However, this bowl will not allow the use of the shredder/slicer discs, which sit on a middle post that keeps them at the top of the bowl. This is simply because the bowl is too short - the lid will not close with the discs installed. So if you are looking for a 9 cup bowl or if you only use your KPF600 for chopping, then this will work fine. Otherwise, keep looking.

Excellent Replacement
I did not want to throw my old food processor away just because the bowl had reached the end of the line. This replacement bowl works and looks just like the original. The quality appears to be good enough to last twenty years just like the last one did.

Photo does not match
The picture on the product description does not match the product. It is a bit shorter. Otherwise, it is a decent replacement. Hopefully they will have changed the image by the time this is posted.

Tight fit.
Works well and saved us from buying a whole new food processor. But....the combination of the new Work Bowl & the new Bowl Cover (purchased separately) is a problem. WOW, are they ever hard to get apart, once you force them together. I'm thinking one or the other will break before long just because of the pressure we need to apply.I have tried the old cover with the new bowl, and it's semi-difficult to work, and the old bowl with the new cover and it's semi-difficult. The two new ones together are insanely hard to take apart.
