you have to have enough clearance to install the elbow
Make sure to look at your roof deck clearance in the attic above the junction. You have to have enough clearance to install the elbow. But in the cases where I could install it, the duct elbow worked wonderfully. I could feel the difference immediately.

Duct elbows make more of a difference than you would think
These duct elbows come two to a pack, I ordered six packs to tackle those flexible ducts which could benefit and they were delivered promptly. The body of the elbow is rigid and made from molded plastic. The curve of the elbow is not adjustable and there is none of the "spring" which would be associated with a metal elbow. This lack of adjustment can be a limitation in some instances. Also, the elbow is not a full 90 degrees, probably more like 75 degrees so you need to ensure adequate clearance under the rafters in tight installations. The ties are long enough for most ducts, just. Installation is straightforward but it can prove tricky to get a solid foundation on the top of the vent box if the duct is bunched up or access is tight. I also installed two to ducts on my plennum to ensure optimal airflow. Once installed though there is an appreciable difference in the airflow through certain ducts in the house and thus I would definitely recommend these elbows.

The idea of the product make you realize hoe many a/c installations has radius bend problems.
This product has not been installed yet but the design and function make perfect sense. A useful product for those technically involved who want to either correct defective installation of make one already installed better. GOOD PRODUCT !.

DIY Great Fix
I can't remember if I bought these on Amazon a couple of years ago or not. However, I did buy them somewhere!!! Used them to correct some air flow issues in my last house, along with cutting in some hard pipe to the flex system to smooth the air flow. I wish they would follow commercial regs on residential and not allow for an entire flex system. (Let's not go down that road though)Anywhooooo, DIY folks out there can handle this EASY EASY EASY!!! Check your connections at the registers in the attic, and if there are true 90 degree bends (or greater...ouch), install these. Flex duct gets soft over time, and eventually collapses. Install these on your bends to support it long term. Check your strapping also, which hangs the flex from the joists. Straps that are too tight, meaning pulling up on the duct creating a bend, will eventually cause you problems. Use a flat piece of ... something ... long enough to give the duct something to rest on without a direct strap pinch. Then re-strap up in position securely, but not enough to pull up on the flex. Great day project in the cooler months of AZ. Remember the saying ... an ounce of prevention ...
