My Dog & I Both Love this! ;)
No, you will not find me licking the lickimat myself, however, I love it nonetheless. This has been an awesome way to entertain my dog on very long car rides, when clipping his nails (which he hates), or just to relax him when he’s full of puppy energy. I have a few different styles of lickimats, and once at a family gathering with multiple dogs, we filled the lickimats with peanut butter and gave them to each of the dogs so they did not make their rounds begging family members for food. We all ate in peace (including the doggos!). These seem to take dogs longer to clean out the snack than most Kong styles, and freezing adds on more time for fun! Often after using the lickimat, my dog lays down to rest, as licking is a soothing activity for most dogs. Highly recommend!Note: this style does not have suction, but if I place it against the wall, I do not have issue with it sliding around. It is easy to clean with dish soap and a spray nozzle, but has also survived many rounds in the dishwasher! Also, always watch your dog while giving them this so they don’t start to chew! Most dogs I’ve used these with had the instinct to lick it, but some would try to chew if it got tricky (for the last of the peanut butter). If your dog is a chewer, I suggest holding the lickimat up for them and giving them lots of praise for licking it correctly so they learn how to use the fun new toy safely!

Not chew resistant
If your dog is a chewer, like most dog products this won't hold up. It's definitely better than just the silicone which your dog could tear up in an instant, but the plastic isn't strong and the silicone isn't any tougher. There's no suction at all so nothing to say there. However my pup does enjoy licking it a lot and the crevices are a pain to clean, but hold peanut butter so well that it keeps her entertained for some time. It works well and is a little studier so I think it was worth the buy. I just wish the plastic wasn't so easy to bite into. My pup left teeth marks the first day 😔

Great for my anxious dog
I have a rescue dog that has a lot of anxiety, including (but not limited to) separate anxiety. This is a great item to give him when I need to leave the house. I cheat and buy dog safe baby food (dog safe meaning veggies & fruits that dogs can eat). I add the baby food, stick it in the freezer overnight, and give it to him as I leave the house for work. It takes him 20-25 minutes to clean it out, then he sleeps with my other dog for the rest of the day. I also use this when I have people come over. This did not 100% solve his separation anxiety, it is a single tool that I use along with other tools to help him. He does not understand the concept of a Kong, and will not like food or treats out of it. This is a great alternative to that.HOWEVER, if you have a dog that likes to chew on things, this might not be the right tool for you. While the plastic give it a little more durability, it would not stand up to even mild chewing.Super easy to clean. I either soak it in some hot water or toss it in the dishwasher.

Sturdy, Easy to clean and useful
My only gripe is it slides all over the place when my dog is licking it so I try to put it up against something but she loves it.Dishwasher and freezer safe!

Our shepherd mix loves this!
Our Shepherd mix loves this mat so much! I was concerned at first that it might be too small for such a big dog but it's perfect for him. He especially loves trying to get chunky peanut butter out of it. He will lick on it for a long time, leave it for a bit, then come back to it. He treats it like a food dish not a toy so we have had no issues with him chewing or destroying it so it's great to leave for him when we are leaving the house for a while.

Not what I was expecting, but still nice.
From the image displayed I thought it was going to be squares on the surface with thin lines to smash the peanut butter into for more difficulty, but it's actually deep squares with thin lines separating each section which is fine. Love this companies products so it will enter the rotation for our dogs lick mat time. I'd recommend one of the other designs (perhaps the one with dots or x's) they offer over this one if the amount of time it takes to finish this treat is important to you.

Perfect for distracting dogs
I bought these so I could get some quiet time and boy was I pleased. I smear Greek yogurt or pumpkin purée on the mats and freeze for an hour. Then I have 30 mins of quiet time while the dogs enjoy a frozen treat.

Lasted longer than expected
We’ve had this for 2 months and while it looks bad, this lock mat has held up longer than any lick mat that we have purchased before

My dog loves it, maybe even too much
I decided to try this one after my dog managed to lick his flexible LickiMat to death, but sadly it didn’t quite survive its first use. Definitely seems like a really sturdy mat, and looks nice too, but it seems to be little trickier for him to lick whatever’s on it off. Although it keeps him busy for longer, he only needed a minute while unsupervised to decide that the best way to get at the stuff on it was to eat the LickiMat too. I hadn’t intended to leave him for long periods with a it as I knew he’d definitely chew it, but I didn’t expect him to have a crack at it when I left him for a moment. I don’t really want to rate it any less than 5 stars though, as he loves the LickiMats, and was always excited whenever I got his previous one out. Definitely makes for great (supervised) entertainment for him.If you want a toy that you can leave with treats in for a dog who’s a chewer, I would highly recommend trying a Kong. It’s the only thing that’s endured my dog’s power-chewing, and it’s also the only toy I feel comfortable leaving him with when stuffed with treats.

Ups and downs!
When we first got this my dog absolutely loved it and we were really pleased with the purchase. The first couple of times he used it we had to guide him to just lick it rather than try to scrape it with his teeth and all was fine once he got the hang of it. He then became really subdued and his lip and gum swelled right up. We took him to the vet and a little nodule had got lodged in his gum causing him a lot of pain and a big vet bill.

Rubbish!
I spread some peanut butter on to this mat and as soon as my Labrador started licking it the + on it started coming off! This item is NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE & IS A HAZARD TO DOGS!

LICKIMAT Buddy Tuff
The LICKIMAT Buddy Tuff is not as tough as they would like you to think. Like many, I have experienced an over zealous Springer tear the LICKIMAT Buddy Tuff apart and it didn't take him long to do it either. In principle the design of the mat works, but if your pooch is like mine and has a ferocious lick, the small crosses that make up the grid are easily torn away from the main body of the mat.And it that were not bad enough, I inadvertently left said pooch alone with the mat once he had removed the dog friendly peanut butter and the good dog that he is, he decided to eat the mat, or at least one corner of it!So, buyer beware - if your dog is supervised and doesn't posses a lick so powerful it literally removes rubber from plastic, the LICKIMAT Buddy Tuff will do just fine. If your pooch is anything like mine, don't bother.

A durable lickimat for a chewer
I absolutely love this lickimat for my dog as he is a bit of a serial chewer. He has managed to chew bits off the normal lickimats but this is a lot more sturdy and durable, the material is tough. It’s much better quality. The only downside is that it takes a little while to clean as you can’t bend it in the same way as the normal lickimats. Best to put it in the sink with some hot water on top to let it soak into the corners. I then use an old toothbrush to get whatever is left out.Highly recommend this though. My dog always get so excited when he sees it coming.
