I wish I’d not have bought these. I would not recommend using them on wood. I drilled 45 degree angles in my posts, installed the sleeves ran the cable and everything looked good. However, even the minimum amount of tension that is required to tighten the cable causes these to dig into the wood and doesn’t allow the sleeves to sit flush. If I had to do it again I’d drill straight holes, use the straight sleeves, slide in a small piece of tubing to help guide the wire, and maybe add a washer to help disperse some of the pressure. I’d considered a washer on these but they’re oval where the sleeve meets the cap.

If you plan to run your wire cable through a 4x4 post or larger, the included drill bit will not make it all the way through when drilling at a 45 degree angle. I ended up ordering a 12" 9/32 bit to complete the job. The quality of the protectors is very good though.

I bought these for the corner posts where our cable railing goes through at a 45 degree angle. These worked great and installed easily. They make the railing look good and will protect the wood from wearing when the cable moves.

Hi,I bought them for my home stairs. Cable are 3/16 and that s why i paid for but the are smaller so it is imposible to pass it throught. I am very dissapointed since i send them to the Dominican Republic. It is really for smaller cables but not 3/16......

The system installed fairly easily, although it did take 2 people (one person on either end when screwing in) to install, but it went quickly and we are delighted with the appearance of the final product.
