Reforming Lord Neil: A Regency Romance (Inglewood Book 5)

This is the well written novel about a girls who's lost everything and a man who has been disinherited. Both were used to a luxurious life, and both find themselves in the dispicable working class. Lord Neil finds it not so low-life"ish" however; bc of the self respect that remains with the heroine despite her humble circumstances.Sally Britton writes in such a way that my mind felt exercised and refreshed when done; no need of a good editor ! LOL. Romance was a few nice kisses between decent people. I would let my teen daughter read this, and I'll look for more from Sally Britton.

If you've been following this Inglewood series then you'll know that Lord Neil isn't the most sought after and loved character. But in Engaging Sir Isaac, I started to have a different perspective of Lord Neil and wondered if there was more depth and goodness to him than first meets the eye.I was very excited to dive into Neil's story. I loved seeing deeper into his character and personality and what makes him tick. Let me tell you that I was not disappointed at all! I loved it. It all made me so happy. Ok, there were some other emotions involved, as is usually when I read and listen to books. Lol! Some frustration, a few "grrrrrs" were heard out of my mouth, many giggles, a few sighs and possibly a few other emotions and sound effects. What can I say other than I am an involved reader. I get invested in my characters and can't help but cheer them on and tell them what I think and react emotionally while reading/listening.Teresa's story pulled at my heart and made me feel several of the above mentioned emotions as well. She was such a great character. I appreciated her goodness and strength and fierce loyalty and love for her family. I loved that she took a chance on Lord Neil and accepted his help and offered help in return. Their sweet story of friendship and finding love was tender and sweet. There were moments of sadness too but overall I just adored these two. I was so happy to learn that he was more than what he appeared to be in the previous books. I find that's so true in real life as well. We only see and perceive certain things about each other but when we really truly take the time to learn more about each other we have a greater understanding and better perception.There's some sleuthing and lots of character growth throughout this story as well as the budding friendship and romance. How the book finished and everything was tied up just made me smile and cheer for these characters! Loved it! The narrator was wonderful. I've loved how she's brought Sally Britton's characters to life and takes me back to Inglewood every time I hear her voice when I start each book. Well done!Content: Clean.Happy Reading!!!

I truly enjoyed Neil’s story. I’ve come to realize that I am quite drawn to novels (from various book series) focused on the redemption of the series villain. This was a great story and very well written. I am no farming expert, but the author has me convinced that she is either knowledgeable in the area, or did her research. I enjoyed the road to happiness through the everyday life and trials. I did wish for more information on Neil’s father...but I understand it not being part of the story. Kudos to the editing as well. I generally catch a lot of the errors in books, but didn’t see much here. It did seem to me that there was an inconsistency about Teresa’s fortune/dowry, as an amount of eight thousand pounds was mentioned, but the amount of ten thousand pounds was stated later. The only other issue that caught my attention is Neil’s hat....presumably it would have been a beaver/top hat, considering his style of dress and the circumstances under which he departed. It is specifically mentioned a few times that he is wearing his hat while doing farm work. That style of hat would be out of place in such circumstances. Not only would it look silly, but it would do little to provide shade, and would probably be an irritant. It would have made more sense for him to obtain a more suitable hat for a farm labourer, or even to go bareheaded. Regardless, a great book. Highly recommended...as is the whole series!

I so appreciated this 5th in the Inglewood series. It was so well done. I loved the transformation of Lord Neil and I loved the strength of Teresa. I found this book so refreshing. It seems many regency romance novels have the same plot. Everyone has to be the most beautiful, the most handsome, and must be titled, etc., etc, and usually In the end the older son dies leaving all the wealth and title to the hero to live regally ever after or the heroine discovers a missing family and is now titled and marries the earl... Lord Neil came to himself in an honest and beautiful story. Of course they had a happy ever after, but they found their happiness in making the best of their situation. Bravo!!

Everywhere he goes, the peop!e he thought were his friends refuse to see or help him. They are afraid of the wrath of his father, a very influential member of parliament and the ton.Finally he ends up at Teresa's cottage🏡, asking to water his horse🐎 and himself. She needs help with her little farm, and he needs a place to stay and food. Even though he never worked a day in his life, he is willing to learn!Great book! Wonderfully sweet romance. Both Teresa and Neil begin to see how empty their lives have been.

This is a charming and riveting story, set against a rural background rather than the more familiar ballrooms and card parties of the London 'Season'. This gave a freshness and originality to the novel. A thoroughly enjoy a letter Regency Romance.

I love a bad-man-turned-good story, and this one was lovely - especially hearing of old friends from previous books in the series

I didn't enjoy this book as much as the rest of the books in the series but it was an ok read.

I liked the tone of the book and enjoyed the whole story

This story weaved several different elements and I had to keep reminding myself of the time and era of this story, because one can easily be really judgemental of the ML. He is really a product of his upbringing and deeply scarred by early experiences, while his coping mechanisms to go through life have become part rebelling, being cynical and part living aimlessly at 35. Cue in the FL whose more recent misfortune has brought up her courage and resilience to keep her family afloat under extremely difficult circumstances, particularly for a woman at that time. Loved her mom and daughter and all the animals in the story too! I also appreciated that the story worked out a more realistic solution to their HEA and not some sudden over the top option.
