Battery life is pretty long. I would say its not very quiet but not super loud. It's what you would expect from a motor only silenced by some cotton fabric lol . My cat didn't seem to mind the noise so much but she didn't play with this toy much. She would go every once in a while to tap it and completely wrap her body around it to attack but that's rare lol.

The media could not be loaded.  Cats love it!! I haven’t gotten these yet but I bought another one before and my cats absolutely love it. It’s nice not to have to use batteries. Eventually mine did get torn up or a bit on the ends and eventually the inside unit stopped working & came out.

Still works after all these months.

If you have a cat who isn't broken I'm sure they would love these. Ours is terrible at "catting" and I got this in an attempt to encourage her to play. They flop enough to catch interest and instead of being obnoxious and flapping constantly, they only flap when they're disturbed by motion (or right when you turn them on.) However, our Chihuahua thought they were amazing and carries them around like they're her "babies," which she does with most stuffed animals. It did stress her out when they kept flapping in her mouth but they didn't break or anything when she bit into them.

These are perfect, one for each of my cats. Love that it comes with a catnip packet so it’s easy to slip in before zipping up. Each comes with their own charger too so can be split up to gift to others. Very happy with purchase

The media could not be loaded.  My 3 year-old cat Dominic really loves his new pair of fish. They don't even get put away; we leave them out on the floor for him to play with when he wants because they move by themselves with the motion activation. That is the best part about these flopping fish; you don't have to get bored entertaining the cat.There is an on and off switch so you can prohibit it from moving automatically (at night for example, so it doesn't make any noise, or if playtime is over). The mini USB cords fit into my computer or cell phone charging block so there is no issue with compliancy. A red light appears to tell you it's charging. I really love that there is no heavy battery to have to replace or screws to take in and out. This will be a long lasting toy if taken care of.The carp (more realistic looking graphic) is smooth in texture and will be easier to clean. The clownfish is more of a plushie material, so not as realistic but more of an obvious softer toy that might even appeal to children. I like having the option of both (my cat does too). Because of the thinner plush material, the clownfish appears to "flop" more drastically than the carp, which is a little bit more limited in movement. This might also provide variety for the cat. He plays with them both equally and might like the way they feel different on his claws and teeth. He definitely loves the flopping movement and kicks the shapes with his back feet, a very natural instinct!The reason for one less star is that it did not come with instructions to give you a starting point on how or when to charge. The on/off switch is also not in any color, so it can be hard to see unless held up to a light source or looked at carefully. Besides that, VERY well worth the money and playtime. I would buy more if he needed them but two was a great deal for the price. I think they will be his favorites for a long time!

Vrery affordable toy, well mafde but my picky cats did not like them, so I will donate to a shelter

So I was skeptical...based on other reviews...but I made sure (as best I can) that I bought the product from the original manufacturer...not some cheapo China rip off crap. I think I was successfully able to weed through all the China replicas. Anywho (sorry big side sore that Amazon allows that to happen, greedy bastards). MY CATS LOVED THESE TWO FISH!! I have 1 that is a skiddish on a normal basis and one that is braver than she is smart. I was thinking the skiddish one might have a problem...nope after it stopped moving on its one. She did her cat like instincts and hid behind a flat rug...then pounced. It did scare her a bit when it started flopping again...but this time she hugged on it and pawed on it like she captured the prize and won the hunt.. Having the catnip really helps them love it more. It is a bit noisy...hence the 4 stars. I've only let them play with it for a little bit...since my kids told me to get these for the cat's Christmas presents. And at the time of this post we haven't put out gifts yet. So if things change...I'll add more comments. But seriously stop using cheater cheater China to manufacturer your stuff. Now I will probably be disappeared for going against Cheater Cheater China,!! This is a great toy for cats.
