Great performer and great price
I've had small ozone generators in the past that were more compact than this one, but they were either on, or off. This unit has a built in timer that allows it to run for 30 minutes with the touch of the large button on the front. Or you can slide the small switch to "on" and it will run indefinitely.I have a wall outlet high in my closet that we store the vacuum in, and I will put the vacuum back and push the button before closing the door. This helps remove the dog odor the vacuum gets. Sometimes I'll check the closet and push the button again if there is still lingering odors.I also sometimes will plug this small unit into an extension cord and place it in the bottom of a box and turn it to on and put material that has absorbed an odor in on top of the generator and then close the box up (like stinky dog beds that don't wash well). Then I leave this for a day or two and the ozone will help kill off the odor.I've had this unit for almost 2 years and it hasn't had any problems. The last ozone generator I had (different brand) lasted about a year before it had problems due to corrosion of the internal electronics. So far this little device has been well worth the money.

Been using these for years
These last several years for me. Periodically blowing the dust out of the opening on the front reduces buildup that will eventually reduce output. I love that we know exactly how much ozone this puts out, and I really love the 30 minute timer.Mine have consistently lasted 4-5 years each, given they aren't dropped. If you drop them repeatedly, that does shorten their life, but just plugged in and used, my first two lasted 5 years each with heavy use. As others have mentioned, keeping the output free of dust bunnies also helps keep these units running nicely.

Nice build quality, but needed cleaning/adjustment after 2 months constant use
This puts out quite a bit of ozone for it's small size and worked quite well to get rid of smells in a ~900sqft apartment. After a couple months of constant runtime it stopped generating ozone so I opened it up to figure out why (4 screws on the back). There was some buildup in the ceramic tube where the spark is generated so I bent the electrode out of the way and cleaned the tube out with a damp q-tip. I believe the buildup was bridging the gap between the tube and the electrode so no spark was forming. After bending the electrode back into place such that it does not touch the walls of the tube it's generating plenty of ozone again. All in all it works well, with minor maintenance. $40 seems like a steep price to me but looking around on Amazon you can't find many options for less.

Scrubs the air like nothing else!
I've had this for about a year now, and just came back to write a review because I'm so impressed. I live in a drafty old apartment building, and my place began to reek of my neighbor's cigarette smoke that was creeping through the floor and the ductwork. I had a HEPA filter machine running 24/7 to help with the allergens and pollutants, and the unscented variety of Febreeze to eliminate any particularly gross smell flare-ups, which were so bad I was waking up in the middle of the night coughing. After a few weeks of this, my studio apartment and everything in it was beginning to smell like an old room at the Best Western, no matter how often I sprayed and ran the HEPA machine. I grabbed this and ran it for a weekend I was out of town and came back to a completely odor-free apartment, much to my amazement and relief. Fast-forward to this year, and lo and behold, the smell is starting to creep in again. I blasted this guy again for about 9 hours (while I was out of the home, this stuff isn't good for your lungs), came home, held my breath while I unplugged it, and ran out for a slice of pizza. By the time I came back, the ozone had cleared and everything from the smoky smell to my neglected garbage can was completely odor-free. Now all I need to do is refresh the place a few times a week with the 30 minute mode and I can come back to a clean home every day!I like to think of this ozone machine as more of a treatment tool to use when I'm not home than something I would always keep on based on the research around it, but if used safely there's nothing nearly as effective as this! Just a little bigger than a deck of cards and super quiet when it's on, you can definitely smell and feel the ozone pumping. This is a permanent, cost-effective solution to nearly any smell problem that works on a scientific level to actually eliminate the odors. Color me impressed!

Size matters. This is a tiny unit and will only be effective in a tiny area.
Every cat owner needs one of these next to their litter box! If you understand the limitations of this product there’s no reason you won’t love it. First of all, Ozone really does scientifically brake up odors. However, this is a TINY ozone generator and will not make odors go away in even an average size bedroom. We have two cats and clean the litter box twice a day. The litter box is in a small bedroom closet with the closet and bedroom doors open. The generator is only 3 ft above the litter box. If we had the closet door closed that would improve the performance of the ozone generator, but we have the door open. The generator helps tremendously with controlling odor, but again it loses its effectiveness due to the closet door being open.We have a second generator we keep plugged in next to our stove. I’ll push the 30 minute timer while cooking. Again, it helps control odors but does not eliminate them because the kitchen is simply too large for this small of a unit.On occasion, I’ll place a generator in my walk-in closet and close the door. When I return a couple hrs later the walk-in closet has the distinct ozone smell (which dissipates quickly once the unit is turned off) and the closet is left smelling refreshed. The litter box generator has been on 24/7 for a year and is still going strong. The unit is loud so don’t put it in an area where that could be an issue.Size matters. This is a tiny unit and will only be effective in a tiny area. If you understand that, you’ll be happy with this generator.
