A total of 5 cars were produced, one of them, according to some reports, was donated To Leonid Brezhnev and was used in one of the country residences. The car received dependent suspension, and the load-bearing body of the model was significantly strengthened. Some units were borrowed from the UAZ 469 model. When developing the model, there were some problems with noise and vibration in the cabin, which could not be solved until the end. The design of the all-wheel drive model completely repeats the design of the GAZ 24 series model. The appearance of the car combines the features of American models of the late 1950s. The final design of the car does not copy any known model and is completely original. Against the background of foreign analogues of the 1970s, the model looked very modern. It is worth noting that in the design of the machine there is a continuity of generations - a horizontal grille with many holes almost repeats the grille on the GAS 21 "third series".
