Monin - Sugarcane Cola Syrup, Authentic Cola Flavor, Great for Soda, Floats, and Slushes, Gluten-Free (1 Liter + 50ml Sample)

This cola syrup doesn't use high fructose corn syrup, which is a good thing. It also means it won't taste identical to brand Coke, etc. Someone wrote that it tasted chemically, NO it doesn't! It tastes just fine. It's also a much better value than the ones that look fancier like Tippleman, Liber Co., and Strongwater. I've tried Liber Co. and I can say there is not a significant difference in taste between these two, at least not worth the money. I use 3 tablespoons to make a tall glass of coke, which means about 22 cokes in the bottle–90¢ per glass.

There's not doubt this tastes like cola, but it doesn't taste like Coca-cola or Pepsi. The initial taste is pretty good, but the aftertaste is different from mainstream colas. It finishes with a somewhat medicinal flavor left in the mouth. I imagine one could get used to it or even acquire a test for it, and I suspect that the quality of ingredients in this syrup is superior to the HFCS options they sell in supermarkets. And for that reason alone I would pick this bottle over pre-made grocery store options. Unfortunately the flavor profile doesn't quite scratch the cola itch for me, and when I finish the bottle I will probably explore other options. Still, it's a decent syrup and definitely worth trying.

Like the option to make lighter cola for adult beverages, and this one is great. Too many corn syrup options have ruined the days of having a nice _____&coke drink so this was a perfect option. Sometimes it's really packed well, sometimes it's tossed in a box, so the packing is always different but it makes it here without breaking so that's all that was needed. Really like the flavor with my liquor of choice.

I am an avid fan of Monin syrups, my favorite is the blackcurrant, so I wanted to love this. I loved that this is made with pure cane sugar and not frankencorn, but I don't like the taste. It has a weird, lingering aftertaste that is quite unpleasant--it's a "flat" taste that I just can't get past. I thought that adding more sugar or carbonation would help, but . . . . it didn't. I use this with my SodaStream and have not used it with store-bought seltzers or soda waters, so ymmv.It's ridiculously expensive, too, so I will not be ordering this particular syrup again, though I will continue enjoying Monin's blackcurrant and the raspberry flavorings. This flavor is getting two stars only because I love Monin's syrups, generally (just not this one).UPDATE: 7/14/17While I still think this syrup is not among Monin's best, I did just re-order it, so it must be at least "okay." This is why I changed my rating from two stars (I don't like it) to three (It's okay). It's still not what you want if you want a coke flavor to mix into a cola drink with your SodaStream or with sparkling water, but it is actually quite excellent in beef stews and other such beefy dishes. I found it to be quite a wonderful addition to my pie crust for minced pies, too, so as an ingredient in these types of recipes, it works beautifully. Whether or not you want to fork out this amount for what amounts to a spice or extract is up to you.

I've been buying Monin cola syrup for a while. I drink it all of the time. I ordered another shipment of Monin cola syrup and immediately noticed a difference. The syrup seemed thinner when I poured it into the glass. When I tasted it it was definitely different. It does not taste good. I compared the label of the new bottle to the label on the old bottle. The ingredients are the same but the label design is different as is the syrup. This syrup isn't worth drinking. I checked my order to see if I could return it. I am not able to return this item. I spent a lot of money on this order. I purchased a lot of bottles to have on hand as I drink several cokes a day. Because the company did not make the consumer aware that it changed the formula, I feel I was misled about the item I purchased. Not only does the syrup taste bad, Monin also increased the price of each bottle. Don't waste your money buying this product.

This is very unique in it's flavor, but once you have it a few times it grows on you. At this point it's my favorite cola.Problem is, it's NOT IN STOCK even on their main website!

I was looking forward to trying this cola. The price was good & I liked the label. Plus sugarcane. I always bought "Heritage Store Old Fashioned Cola Syrup" that came in a glass bottle and the taste was Perfect! I use it for nausea. I can't find it anywhere anymore. I tried this instead. The taste is not good. The smell is not good. I cannot get past them I will not be able to use this. Disappointed.

Monin makes excellent syrups. I give them 4 stars because they are pricey. I like sugar cane colas. They do taste a little different than the traditional brands you buy off the shelves that use corn syrup. I think they have a cleaner taste. It might take some getting used to.

I love the taste of this syrup when appropriately mixed, it is refreshing with just the right amount of sweet. The flavor might be unusual to those accustomed to more modern colas, imagine 90% cola with 10% ginger beer and you will get the theme of how this tastes. This is clearly because of the raw cane sugar giving it this unique edge.So how long does one bottle last? I use this for my Soda Stream system and to get an appropriate strength requires two of the Soda Stream syrup caps (I saved one to see how much I need of Monin to get the same "strength" with Soda Stream cola syrups) so this is roughly half the strength. If you drink this very regularly your $30-40 will go pretty quick, so bare that in mind.Would I buy it again? Likely. But the cost will keep me from doing so often because I feel it is overpriced.

tasres just like a coke or a pepsi. you can choose how sweet u want it just by adding how much syrup you want. we mix it with chilled Perrier water. its perfect

As mentioned in title, it’s a really decent ingredient list compared to the competition. Great flavour!

Takes a little while to get the right dosage but it's the closest I've come yet to a palatable cola taste.

Flavour is not conventional but nice overall. If you are tired of coke syrups that taste about the same, give this one a try. It is a lighter, less aggressive kind of coke. Worth a try at least once.
