Amazing light, amazing service
This is by far the best light I've ever owned. I bought one of the first generation 8060's and used it for years. It was replaced, no questions asked, by Pelican, when I returned it for service on the switch. After years of dedicated service, on and off, night after night and numerous drops, the switch wore out (as expected). Pelican sent a replacement that I used for about four years, until this upgraded model was introduced. The first 8060's were about 300 lumens, if I remember correctly and this one is advertised as 803 lumens. One of the best features of this light is the ability to use C batteries, if needed. In my experience, the C's last longer than the original battery does.Make no mistake, this is not a "tactical-covert-edc light". It was not designed to be clipped, screwed, bolted, taped or otherwise mounted to the barrel of your "tacticool" AR15 (it won't work, don't try it, you know who you are). This is a full size, full weight, duty light, comparable in size to a 4 C cell Maglight. It fits perfect in a sap pocket or tucked under your arm to free up your hands. It is consistently one of my most used and relied upon pieces of gear. Also, the different modes are very helpful and mine is set for high - medium - low. There is a strobe and a flash feature that I don't really use but programming the modes is as easy as pressing the button a few times. I won't bother writing about the throw, cool spots, hot spots or diffusion nonsense you read in other light reviews.Bottom line: This light is wicked bright and will serve you for years. If it fails, Pelican service is probably the best I've ever dealt with (they put Streamlight to shame).

Great quality
Bright and sturdy. I like the fact it can run on a rechargeable battery or “C” size batteries.

Fantastic duty light.
I bought this light as a supplement to my Pelican 7060 flashlight. This 8060 throws a long beam, unlike some of the smaller flashlights that tout "high lumens" but actually spread the light too much (a consequence of shallow reflectors on those smaller lights.) Note: The first 8060 I received had a defective electronic switch. Sometimes the light would work when I pressed the switch, sometimes it didn't. Taking the battery out a few times would temporarily fix this, but the problem would return. If you receive a light that does this, return it immediately and get a replacement. The second light I received (the one I now use) has zero issues, and lights 100% of the time (as a flashlight should, right?) I love these plastic/polymer Pelican lights, as aluminum flashlights (I love my Maglites too) can feel like an ice cube in your hand on a cold night.

Light was great while it worked
I bought the 7060 came in broken, only bottom switch worked not side. Sent back and got this one since the price was not that much more. I had it for a few months and worked great. So much so a coworker stole it. Having this type of light is a job requirement I replaced it a 3rd time. Worked fine until it died and would not turn on again. Tried to just change batteries thinking maybe it was the charger it was not. Contacted Seller and was not treated great but that's an entirely different issue. Spending over 230$ on a flashlight it should work longer then a month and it honestly seems big for no reason. I did see a difference in functionality just length and less buttons.

pelican still delivers quality
i bought a 7060 many years ago. it's taken a beating and still works as if new -- it's quite bright. i just bought the 8060. it's even brighter and every bit as sturdy. if you're in the market for a rechargeable, pelican is the brand to get. expensive but worth every penny.

Great, but not as great as 7060 model
Perhaps I just got a really exceptionally made 7060? But, this model pales in comparison to it. I got my husband one up from the one I have had the last 9 years... I was hoping it was better. It's only bigger. the 7060 is the way to go for a powerful always impressive flashlight. Long long battery life..

I did my Research on this Light I Must Say its impressing and it actual 800 Straight beam. Once you Go with this those others will be pointless battery last pretty well and the charger is nice when mounted on the wall. All the Fire Fighters and Police are carrying this Definitely Recommend to Purchase this Flash Light!! Pelican is the way to go!

The most amazing flashlight ever!!
Absolutely love my pelican! Just got it and I’m so impressed. I’ve been looking for an led flashlight that would just literally light the whole yard up and this thing is just amazing! If you want to see at night get this baby. It’s well worth the money.
