Too much. Spoilers below...
Really hated this book. It made me cry. The husband married another woman while he was holed up during the two years everyone thought was dead. I know he he had to marry her to keep his disguise up and he slept with her also to keep the disguise. I understand why he did it. That is it. Understand but definitely ruined the book for me. I dont care that he pretended it was Emily or anything else. It just ruined the book for me and ruined my day. Then he was such a jerk to her when he came back and she loved him so much. I just couldn't handle her pain. Maybe if he would have been nicer to her and kind but he wasn't. I just wish I had never read it. They do have an HEA but I didn't care at that point. And seriously I understand why he did it, I know people will be empathetic to him and what he went through but at least treat the wife that has been faithfully waiting for you better when you got back. He was a zero.

I can tell the author did some research for this scenario.
After being missing in action for over two years, Chief Petty Officer First Class Winston Hannigan is presumed dead. His wife, Emily, had not given up hope until then. Wanting something of her husband and since they always wanted children, Emily decides to utilize her right to visit the fertility center and use her husband’s stored sperm. When she is two weeks pregnant, Winston is found and comes home. But he is not the same man she married. After all, he had spent two years among the enemy. Feeling he can no longer make Emily happy, he wants a divorce so she can find love elsewhere. Learning she is pregnant with his child is a shock, yet it does not change his mind.**** FOUR STARS! Winston has some dark secrets from the time he was with the enemy that I do not share for risk of giving spoilers. I will say that at least one of them shocks Emily to her core. The author has crafted well developed characters and made the story very believable. I can tell she did some research for this scenario. Very well done. ****Reviewed by Detra Fitch of Huntress Reviews.

A fight for Soulmates
This was a tough read but totally worth it. After two years MIA, Emily's husband Winston is declared dead. She decides to have their child by in vitro. Weeks later, she's informed he is alive and back. After two years of being a prisoner and "traitor" living with the Taliban, Winston has survived and escaped his captors and brings valuable intel to his superiors. The cost is his soul. He doesn't believe in love or predestination any more. He believes he has to let Emily go for her to have a happy life. Their struggles are emotionally tough to read. The end is a sweet twist of fate.

Not for me
I had a hard time trying to get into this book. I did like the fact Emily was a strong character. Winston her husband had some dark secrets that he kept from her. There are parts of the book were I didn't like Winston and I thought Emily would be better off without him.

Lost, then found
This was a hard book to read. Emily's husband was a soldier and was listed as dead. But when they found him alive, she was stunned at how little he cared about her. He wasn't tacky, but just not interested. Her hope was that Winston would get better, when she told him she had used his sperm to get pregnant, he was shocked. There was a lot of trouble between them, but after visiting the parents of a fallen soldier, he realized how much he did care.

No.
This is the kind of book that makes me sick to my stomach. A wife left behind, as her husband goes off to serve his country, while the husband marries another woman as he's serving. The other woman is pregnant, yet the husband comes back to his wife. Surprise! The wife had been told he was dead. He's not! Then, the horrid excuse for a husband decides that he doesn't deserve his wife! Not only do I hate cheating, but when the cheater is cold and heartless to his wife, he's a disgrace. You can't make this stuff up!

Great story with lots of emotion!
4 1/2 STARS!Gut-wrenching! She lost the love of her life, and just when she's making a decision to move forward without him for the first time, he shows up at the door. The author brought a high level of empathy and emotion forward through Emily and while we sympathized with his plight, we had to dig deep to reach Win's true self, but we eventually get there in a beautiful way. Really enjoyed their story!Emily Hannigan was living the life that dreams are made up. Madly in love with her soldier husband and planning for the future, when one day she's told that he's missing in action and eventually declared dead. She felt like she was living someone else's life for awhile, and eventually the numbness led to a life without Win. Just when she decides to continue their dreams without him, she's overjoyed to hear that he's still alive!Winston Hannigan had to make a life altering choice ... duty over love. He might be among the "living" again, but he's not the same man he was before he co-existed with the enemy for years. He knows he can move on and pick up the pieces of his life again, but he also knows he doesn't deserve the pure love that Emily has always showered upon him. All he has to do is wait out the time until she realizes she doesn't want to be with the man he's become ...
