The MXL 770 is an excellent choice for recording most vocal applications. These mics really are excellent for any type of home vocal recording. It works very well for acoustic guitar recording if your guitar does not have a pre-amp. The value for the money is outstanding and the sound quality of these mics is excellent. However, I would not recommend it for live on-stage usage as it's not built for that environment. I have been using the MXL-770 exclusively for the last couple months and I am very satisfied with the results.

I had an MX770 to start with so had just had to buy a couple more to record with friends.
