great product, with some minor flaws. don't let your buddy raise & lower it. he might accidentally unscrew the lens & drop it in the river. you cannot buy a replacement lens, you have to buy the whole fixture... the lens unscrews with just a slight turn. the light swivels 180 degrees with notches all in between, so it can point down, up, & many places in between. i swapped out the crappy incandescent bulb for an LED bulb, it was expensive, like $20 or something, but it is brighter, & won't burn out, or have the little wire in it get broke from rough water or vibrations. i kept the original fixture that was on my boat, & just used the lens. the boat has been on saltwater for at least the past 5 years, & the fixture works great still. i did remove the lens & coat the metal with dielectric grease when i got the boat, & i make sure to keep all the metal coated with fresh grease so it will not rust out. if you leave the light in the down position, it will fill up with water. if you drill a hole in the top, then you have the same problem in the up position. they should have sealed the lens to where no water can get in but left a vent so it will not fill with condensation, i guess a strategically placed hole in the fixture couldn't be implemented into the molding (idiots). anyway, it's a good product. overpriced, but "fair market value" so can't blame them for that.

Design flaw as it allows rain to fill the entire cap when turned upside down. I have to take off the cap so water doesn't fill and destroy the metal parts inside. Don't not buy if you have it mounted to your polling platform and use a cover.

Easy to install regardless of whether being mounted vertically or horizontally. Easy fold-down feature. Will accept similar style LED bulb without any modifications

This is a great product. I install these on my outboard motors. They are strong, fold down for transport and provide good all around illumination. The folding mechinisim is foolproof and never corrodes or gets jammed.

Good product and arrived on time.

This was what was OEM on our boat. It was great to replace like for like. Installation in my case was super easy. The quality/$ was a bit steep but since I was going for the ease of installation this tipped the scale. Decent light, works well, would buy it again if I needed to.
