Great printer in most respects, except for one flaw that may or may not matter to you (but matters a lot to us)
Great printer, scanner, and fax machine. Has all the modern features one would expect, except for WiFi. I understand there is a version with WiFi, but this one definitely does not have it.The one big flaw that made me give it 4 stars instead of 5 is the envelope printing option, which is very important to us. To feed envelopes instead of regular paper, one needs to open the back of the printer and manipulate some mechanical levers. As soon as regular paper is fed again (regardless of which tray), this clumsy process has to be reversed. This inconvenience would be acceptable if running some large number of envelopes on rare occasions. But for casual envelope - printers like us (one envelope every few days), it makes this printer unusable for that particular purpose. If you don't mind hand-writing the address on your envelopes or rarely send mail that needs to be addressed, this flaw will be of little consequence to you. All else in this printer is excellent.

Good copier for the price with some limited capabilities
Just a few things to take note of, it is a cheaper model so it can be expected that it would be lacking. It doesnt support tls for scan to email auth which means you cant use it out of the box with office365 or other secure email servers. There is no editable subject field for emails, so it just sends Dell Sn2815dn Scan Data as the subject which it partially gets from the tcp-ip host name. The glass isnt legal size even though the paper tray supports legal so you have to use the ADF to scan or copy anything legal. It only supports the onboard fax, it wont use a fax server like more expensive dell models do. Makes good copies and the ADF works well.

A couple of major issues
This printer was recommended by my IT guy. I usually buy HP or Brother but was willing to try Dell printers. Initially it works fine. I use it for straight forward copying, printing, and faxing. After about 6 months, I started having one vertical line going up and down the front and then back of the paper. Tried cleaning the head, resetting, doing the things recommended online but ineffective. I was told I probably need to have it service and that would cost be a couple of hundreds, umm, nope. I just use it to copy unimportant things and for faxing. However, a week ago, the darn thing made a clunky gear grinding loud noise whenever I made a copy. I don't know the lifespan of these things but previous non-Dell printers always lasted me at least 4 years and this has been only 2 years.

Disappointed after Consumers rated it so high
Disappointed after Consumers rated it so high. It randomly gives annoying error beeps without any indication as to the problem. The touch screen is too sensitive. The print cartridge locking arm is hard to operate. Print quality is very good.

Love the ease and quality of this printer
Love the ease and quality of this printer. Would give 5 stars but I hate that it dings every time it starts and finishes a print job and I can't figure out how to turn it off.

No Dell serial number.
It does not have a Dell tag# on the printer or the box, so there is no Dell warranty on this printer.
