Very sturdy - Good materials, but ...
The quality is very high and it is incredibly sturdy yet light for a pipe this size (39"). I rate the product itself five stars, but I am actually going to give it four and take one away because the product listing did not mention the hardware isn't included. So I had to make another trip to the Home Depot to get the screws needed to get it installed. It's fine if they don't include the hardware, but the product listing should state that it does not come with them so I could plan ahead and have them ordered. As a service from me to other potential buyers, the Winegard instruction sheet recommends purchasing 5/16 x 3" lag screws. The mount has 6 holes drilled into them but they only recommend using the center two unless the mount slides on you, then you can utilize the additional holes to secure it even further. Also, the instructions say this mount is not recommended for boom lengths longer than 40 inches.

It's a pipe
Bottom line, it's a pipe and serves it's purpose. If you find it on sale and less expensive than other similar ones, then buy it.Possible differentiators:1. Length - this is a longer one at about 3 1/2'2. Color is more gray rather than what the picture shows which is closer to white3. You can easily flip the pipe so the bend is closer to the mounting point or the bend is closer to the other end. Depending on your application, it may be more convenient to mount one way or the other. One thing I did not like - mounting bolts were not included, so you will need to make a trip to Home Depot or Lowes and pick a few up. In the instructions, they clearly suggest the size to use - so for the additional 50 cents for two of them (that includes a 100% profit margin)- why not include them?Ours is mounted in the attic from a rafter and pointing downward with the bend flipped around closer to the non-mounting end. We have an Antennas Direct DB8 antenna mounted to it and it works perfectly for our use.Would have given 5 stars had the mounting bolts been included.Update:I've been so happy with the setup of the antenna/pipe and the reception we're getting, I purchased a second of each to point in another direction to pull in even more stations.

Perfect mount for my Ambient Weather station
First, I had to put the mount on the opposite end of pole to match the Amazon product photo. But it was easy to do. This mount bolted to the outside of my metal building with ease. The base was short enough to fit between the horizontal metal siding ribs and had enough pre-drilled holes to simply lineup on a vertical post (building), mark with a sharpie and then drill/screw with (3) self taping metal screws. On a table, I added the weather station to the mount (station has to point North in its final position and be level), and then used the self tapping screws to bolt it down. You may have to pivot the mount/pole to get to each screw with drill. Check level and lock down pivot screws. This looked like a professional job when done and the station is in the air, level, pointing north, and sending weather info as required. Need I say more.

Great support for my weather station
First off, Winegard has been around a long time. I remember installing their brand antennas about 50 years ago so I know it is a reliable brand. I was impressed right off with the sturdiness of this mount. Better than most others I have seen and easy to install on our fence with two lag bolts. Be aware that when installing you will need to remove the vertical pipe from the bracket as the holes are not accessible with the pipe in place. Also that the pipe can be installed two ways, with the "J" up or down depending on your needs. Three bolts involved, two carriage bolt type to allow vertical adjustment and one cross bolt to secure the unit upright. Instructions included if you need them. Well built and a good value.

Super happy with my purchase.
Excellent product to accompany a 50/60 mile range small antenna.the price was right after my crude diy plastic pipe mount would toss and turn in the wind and wasn't cutting it. Went up in a matter of 5 minutes and used some walkie talkies to get my son to point the antenna for optimal signal directions in another 5. Has just the right height for to accompany my Winegard FVHD30H with low profile on my roof. Was able to get all the local channels plus way more in between in digital HD. For a one time payment of around $50 i have cut my tv cable bill for almost 4 years now. The local channels have most of the NFL, sports, shows, and news that I often watch, for everything else I have netflix, hulu, streaming programs etc.only cons is that it didn't come with screw for the base, then again..that doesn't merit any penalties on the rating....for (4) 10 cent screws.Final words...sturdy and excellent price.

Works perfect with DISH dish
Due to some tree growth, I needed to raise my Dish Network dish a bit higher. This J pipe did the job. The Winegard J pipe diameter is exactly the same as the Dish J pipe, just as strong, but it's almost 2 feet longer. (From the bend, this Winegard DS-3000 is 34 inches long; my Dish pipe from the bend is only 12 inches long.)The roof mount for this Winegard is exactly the same as the Dish roof mount. So, if like me, all you need to do is get your dish a couple feet higher in the air, leave the existing roof mount in place, remove only the shorter Dish J pipe, and replace it with this one.Other than the bolts you see in the picture that attach the J pipe to the roof mount, there are no bolts included for mounting this unit on your roof. Also,to answer some questions I've seen posted about this item, there is no rubber gasket or any type of roof cement included for waterproofing the bolts that screw into your roof. You have provide those yourself.

Sturdy & Well-designed
Once I had the base mounted to a vertical surface, I found I really needed three hands to hold the mast in the correct position, fit in a carriage bolt from one side and thread on the nut from the other. If you can dragoon a friend into helping, this part of the job will be way easier.I found this mount to be extremely sturdy and well-made. Not inexpensive, but I didn't mind spending some extra money to know that once it was up, it was up & stable, and I wouldn't have to climb the ladder again.

Great for weather stations.
Good, solid mount with easy adjustment. Paint finish is good so it shouldn’t rust and leave marks. More than sturdy enough for my Cape Cod Anemometer, or any weather station use.

Good pipe mount for the Starlink dish
Used it to mount my Starlink dish to the wall of our house and get the dish above the roofline. It is the right size and sturdiness for that. I used Starlink's pipe adapter accessory to snap the dish on the J pipe: the adapter is a bit wider and looks a bit funny with the screws on the adapter not lining up with the holes in the J pipe, but it is sturdy and safe.

Overpriced
It's a basic mount that's longer than most but unfortunately it's overpriced. Paint comes off way too easily. A bit on the light side for heavier items.

Good for mounting Starlink
Long enough to get the dish above the snow on the roof

It works
I used this for my helium hotspot antenna. Easy to install and it’s a good quality mount.
