Worth the read
Especially if, like myself, you dive for deeper understanding of who you are. The end in was a bit suprising.

Beautiful
I love this book. It reminded me of a John Steinbeck novel, but this book really spoke to me, and I think I knew almost every character in the book whether it be family or friends. This book is amazing, I want to pass it on to family and friends or read it to them.

Excellent insight into the lives and difficulties of several generations of early Mexican immigrants. Fascinating, sometimes both gritty and hopeful.

Amazing book!
I was absolutely star struck by this book! I cried, laughed but the entire time I felt like I was living it. I was pretty sad when it ended. It's an amazing book and as a young Mexican girl myself it taught me a lot about my people. I recommend this book 110%

Kept me interested
A novel about Mexican Americans through generations of a particular family. Well written, emotional at times, with a twist at the end.

good book
Nice story about Chicanos. Shows the racism and hard ship they endured and the close family ties they all had.
