Good looking, supremely comfortable
Before ordering these boots, I went on the Mammut website and they recommended I got size 10.5 which is larger than normal for me. I recommend everyone does this as the boots are still £180 there. They arrived in a white box, saying that the original box was damaged in transit. I’m not sure that is true as the boots also didn’t have any tags. I suspect someone returned the boots without the tags etc. That said, the boots were not damaged in any way and I complained to Amazon. They gave me 20% discount and refunded this to my card.My star rating though reflects the product themselves. These are very comfortable boots, the lacing system is excellent and it’s honestly like wearing slippers. Memory form enhances the comfort. They are also very supportive, they look really good, far better than the dated looking Meindl or Hillmasters which are more expensive and don’t offer anything more. I have been through long very wet grass which is an excellent test for the the waterproofing and it stayed dry.I haven’t tested the boots on really rocky/mountain hiking routes yet, but I don’t think they’ll be a problem.

Poor quality walking boot
The boots are not waterproof - you'll need to do that yourself (i applied nik wax twice to get them waterproofed). The metal lace eyelets have sharp edges and the supplied laces frayed and the laces needed replaced. The Vibram soles wear excessively (the picture shows circa 150 miles of walking). They are comfortable enough but not of a good build quality - they look the part but really don't perform long term.Edit - one of the lace eyelets has just broken offI would not recommend these boots (men's size 8 for reference)

Good value, lightweight boot
Good value for money, as you can see from the pictures, my first pair are 11 months old and have done several hundred miles without maintenance and faired pretty well considering. I ordered a size too big, and wear an extra pair of socks for comfort on them long 30-40k hikes. They seemed to survive a British and Spanish winter in the hills alright along with gaiters and crampons. Hopefully with some TLC the next pair will last a year

Great boots.
Served me very well in a 50mile hike across a very wet Dartmoor. Soles are perhaps a little hard, but with a good sock this was no problem. Good support and grip whilst keeping my feet dry. Maybe not the best for hot weather, as my feet have been quite hot when the sun is shining a lot!
