This was a great, cost-effective fix for a dying battery in your Kindle. Be aware, however, that Amazon makes it really hard to replace these batteries. Make sure you have the right tools and most importantly, TAKE YOUR TIME.It is a tedious process to remove the front case, which is glued on pretty tightly. I had to go around the edge several times (maybe 7 or 8), prying a little more of the screen up each time until it finally came off. Try to gently pry rather than "push" with whatever prying tool you are using. I ended up pushing a bit too much, and moving some of the adhesive around on the cover. It doesn't appear to have affected the unit in any way, but just be careful.Once that came off, and I unscrewed the screws with a T5 screwdriver, I had to use a lot of force to pry off the back of the case from the main board. That finally got me to the battery, which itself was glued down with some sort of industrial strength adhesive. That also required a lot of prying to get the battery off of the adhesive.After that, putting it all back together was trivial. Looks as good as new, and the battery is lasting like it did when I first bought the Kindle.

After reading a book in my Kindle this new replacement battery needed to be recharged. This battery would not take a charge. It was not the charger or the charging chord as both are still being used successfully. The company sent me a response on Amazon accepting a return and also saying that it may be the wrong battery--"Send a picture and we will get the correct one". There was no name or email address to respond to and the phone number was incomplete. I tried the internet to get some other contact information but it is all foreign phone numbers and no clear path was evident to resolve said issue.

The battery is ok, but you need to take out the chip in the original kindle battery in order to do a full replacement. There is a tiny chip at the front of the battery component of the kindle that needs to be swapped. You have to remove it with a soldering iron and then resolver it to the new battery. Don’t be like me and throw the kindle battery out before you get your new battery.

Said it was for 7th generation kindle eReader but it was not the correct battery and was returned

So far so good. Right size and holds a good charge. Fairly straightforward installation but it's by no means plug&play.
