Best Timex Expedition watch yet
This is the one article of clothing I wear 90% of the time. I work in the military and am able to seamlessly transition from working out in the morning to working on a computer to making dinner at home. I've had a couple previous Timex's, (most recently the Timex Men's T49612 "Expedition Trail Series" Black and Green Watch), and they're all great sports watches, but this is clearly the best. The band is thinner than previous ones, and while that may not seem like a big deal it caused me to take off my watch to type emails. The Indiglo button is easily recognizable, by touch, and the display is large and easily seen in the dark using the Indiglo function. Unlike some watches, programming time is intuitive and easily accomplished in less than 1 minute. It's ability to input up to 3x times zones was also useful; I programmed EST into it while deployed so I could easily know what time it was for my family back home.If you're like me, and after a short night's sleep the clanging alarm clock doesn't always wake you up, then this watch is perfect for you. Its vibrating alarm function is one of the main reason I bought it, it works exactly like I want it to, and wakes me up every time. You can also turn off certain functions if you don't want to needlessly cycle through them every time. The Stopwatch function (chronograph) works well and has fairly large numbers which always helps to see if you're running. Like everything else with this watch, its functionality is pretty common sense. This is a great watch, and at its current price of about $32 I haven't found another watch that comes close to being as good as this one.

Good watch, not so good instructions
I finally broke my 7 year old Ironman and I was attracted to this watch because of the vibration alarm. The watch arrived in good order. I read the instructions through and no mention of the vibration alarm. I figured it out without a lot of trouble but it seems to me Timex should a least explain the watches advertised feature. I also don't like to read the small crinkled up instruction sheets that come with these watches. I eventually found the online version which I can zoom to read etc. Trouble is I couldn't find it on the Timex site directly. I did find it by typing the watches info directly into Google which took me to the location on the Timex site. All of this cost the watch one star. That said the watch does what I need which is a big display, a vibrating alarm, a simple chronometer and timer capability. Others have mentioned quirks in some of the programming but these don't affect my use.Edited 12/21/2011The manual that came with my watch dates to 2005 as found out on the Timex Canada website. Those instructions seem to apply to this watch however they don't cover the new features such as vibrate alert and the ability hide functions. Turns out the new features all seem to be accessed in the Time Set mode. You just keep hitting the Mode button through all the Date/Time set screens. Vibrate is a choice under the Alert screen. Continuing on with the Mode button, each function appears that you can either show or hide.I like this watch and it continues to do what I need.

Nice sturdy watch for working on projects.
This is a nice watch. Seems sturdy. Easy to set, and the Indi-glo display is really easy to see at night. The watch was very easy to program. I think it will last me a long time. The only negative remark I would make is about the alarms. I don't consider myself to be an especially heavy sleeper, but neither the vibration nor the chime is going to wake me from a sound sleep. I wanted to use this in lieu of an alarm clock so that I didn't wake my wife up every morning, but I don't think I can trust this to do the job. I set it for 10 minutes before my alarm clock, and sometimes it wake me up in time to turn off the alarm, if my wrist is positioned near my head, but sometimes it doesn't. The vibration alone would never do the job, so I use vibration plus chime. It is sturdy, comfortable, and a good watch to wear while working on projects.for working

Silent alarm feature is fantastic. Lots of bang for a relatively small price.
I bought this to replace a silent alarm sleep monitoring watch. It does what I wanted it to. It is super light, and it easily wakes me in the morning in silent mode. Since this is my only purpose for the watch, there is a convenient feature that allows me to disable any features I don't need. This eliminates the need to scroll though a long list of features not being used, in order set the alarm. (They are easily enabled again if you wish to use other alarms, the timer, or chronograph , etc.,). My only concern is the band. It is pretty stiff plastic and I'm afraid it will not last. That is not proven, but it is a concern. Although it doesn't have the same quality feel as the Ironman Tri model, overall, I am more than happy with the purchase.

Both are very nice. The watch is also very easy to set ...
I bought this watch for the larger display and the vibration alarm. Both are very nice. The watch is also very easy to set up. I have not had any problem with the watch resetting, but I've only had it for one day now. Only 4 stars because the watch is rather large. I think Timex could have done better keeping the watch a little thinner.I was going to buy the Casio Fisherman's watch, but it did not have a countdown timer and a new band cost as much as a new watch. But it had a nice feature that Timex should add to this watch - sunrise and sunset times.Overall, I am pleased with this purchase.

Great watch with useful features
Vibration alarm: Ideal because it is strong enough to feel it, but is not audible to others.Setting process: Straightforward.Strap: Comfortable and there is a catch on the end of the strap that holds the free end in place. Good design.Size: It is large, but I like the look. It is lightweight and comfortable.Indiglo: great feature. Does not light up so bright that it wakes someone else up, but is clearly visible. Turns off quickly and saves battery life.I like the fact that I can "hide" features I don't use. The anniversary alarm is a great idea, but since I'm not using it, it is "hidden" so I don't have to scroll through this feature - except in setup mode.Great value for the money. This product delivers. I use it everyday.

Good vibration alarm
I have had one of these for a few years now and the vibration alarm is great for waking me up at 05:30 for work without disturbing the boss too much. This is a replacement because mo other one is on it's third strap and is getting a bit battered now.

GREAT WATCH!!
I bought this watch for my son, whom takes medication & uses extra (vibrating) alarms as to not draw attention to himself in class.
