Admittedly, I only recently started a campaign in Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay, so this is my first exposure to one of their adventure books. I can see why it is considered a classic. The set-up is detailed and the events are designed to pull the players in. While my campaign is only using the system and not the world, there are many ideas and characters I can pull in from this book to flesh it out. And if they bite on a version of the plot, all the better.

Getting back into RPG after decades, I thought I'd start with one of the best campaigns ever published. I played this 30 years ago with a great group of players, and thought it was great. My thought here was to read about all the little bits of campaign that our GM either could not include, or decided not to. So far, loving it, and will by the next part.Having said that, Amazon's packaging is awful. A very thin plastic sleeve that damaged two of the corners of the hardcover. I have to admit I am fastidious about this sort of thing, it rubs me the wrong way. So I ordered a replacement which I just received, and it was worse - all four corners are dented. I had provided feedback as to the reason for my return, but I guess no one reads those things. Both deliveries were in crappy sleeve with marketing for Amazon's Rings of Power, so some of you may appreciate the irony there.Separately, I also purchased the Warhammer Fantasy RPG core rules, which is a thicker hardcover book in the same format, but came properly protected with a harder cardboard box. I don't know why they don't treat both products the same.

Enemy in shadows is the first entry in the enemy within campaign. I think it's fantastic. The adventures have real stakes and the charm of the old world. It's well written and I can't wait to run it at the table.

The original Enemy Within campaign is a masterpiece, yet Cubicle 7 managed to surpass that high bar. The addition of "Grognard Boxes", sidebars that give suggestions on how to change the adventures for previous players, give you great ways to change the adventures so even veteran players will be surprised by the turns of events. Great first book in the series. Can't wait for the others.

Cubicle 7 is hitting it out of the park with their WFRP books. This one has so much packed in. Really enjoyable.

I don't have previous experience with older editions of Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay, but this is more fun than current editions of D&D or Call of Cthulhu.

Love what they've done with this. You won't be disappointed.

Purchased this as a Christmas gift for my son. Looks awesome. Can’t wait to run the campaign!
