Much Sturdier than a free standing base.
No dislike at all, this item is sturdy, doesn't take up the foot room of a free standing stand, and we were able to stabilize it more to eliminate the play left from any wind or breeze. We always fold our umbrella's down when done for the day and zip tie to avoid damage just in case a storm passes through the night.

4 out of 5 as is. 5 out of 5 with modifications.
It's a good sturdy mount but I believe there is room for improvement. First I swapped out the lower bolt for a 3 inch x 5/16 hitch pin so that I can quickly change the angle without the need for tools. The tubing has no thumb screws to tighten against your umbrella. Therefore, if you tilt your umbrella and the base, the umbrella will spin with the slightest breeze. Solution, drill and tap the tube for a 1/4 x 20, 1" thumb screw. After the modifications I can get my umbrellas out over the water in my pool and still keep the tops level, which was my goal.

Pricey but strong and Effective
Works great. Easily attached vertically or horizontally. Excellent strength and stability. On the expensive side but far better than others I looked at.

AWESOME product, just not sure what it is?
Sorry. I bought this, looked it over and thought it an awesomely useful solution to my umbrella mounting need. Even considered how and where to mount it on my deck! Then the let down … there’s no way to secure the umbrella to the base? What? Couldn’t believe it, there’s no way to secure the umbrella to this base!!!The product is sturdy (5 stars), the product would be stable for sure (5 stars), and it has some cool maneuverability to it imho (5 stars). But if a 5mph wind will blow an umbrella right out of it… it’s NOT an umbrella base!!!I could’ve spent a couple hours making it do what it was (not) designed to do but … why would I waste my time on a product they clearly didn’t see for to spend the time designing? Goes back to amzn tomorrow. One star.

Decent
Be better if the bolts to adjust the tilt angle were able to be removed without tools.

Alert - Weak welds failed after 2 days
I was initially very pleased with these as they appeared to be made of a long lasting metal construction, but that lasted just 2 days. I have them mounted on to a flat concrete surface. We have not had much wind at all here in Texas this weekend. The property is surrounded by mature trees and a 8ft privacy fence, so even when it is windy we get very little by the pool. Imagine my shock when after just 2 days (umbrella removed each night) the weld failed and the umbrella started to lean. The umbrella is inexpensive and has shown no signs of an errant gust of wind. Only the stand is damaged. Not only will I need to replace both of these stands, but I'm also going to have to find something that hides the holes drilled in my concrete pool patio. Not at all pleased with these.

Deck Mount Umbrella Holder - not sturdy!
Nothing wrong with the product if it had a bolt securing the flag or umbrella pole. This item looked used when I received and was missing lag bolts. I returned for a full refund. I’m sure this is only a isolated incident, but unfortunate for me.
