This movie is awesome. Chevy Chase, Dan Aykroyd,Demi Moore, John Candy, Tupac and the Digital Underground!!! Great classic

Great purchase for this movie

So....this is one odd duck of a film. I definitely see what they were trying to do with it but it falls flat in MANY ways. First off, horror comedies are hard to pull off....there's always a perfect balance that needs to be upheld. A big issue with this movie is that a cast known for comedic back catalogs really don't bring laughs. Chase kinda seemed like he couldn't care less making this and that fact is semi confirmed in the making of features on this disc. The sets and effects were actually really good and it's a shame that this films intentions weren't realized by anyone involved. But a cool bonus is the inclusion (even if pointless) of digital underground featuring a relatively unknown Tupac Shakur. I guess if it's cheap enough it's worth getting but it's not that great of a movie at the end of the day. This disc features a solid transfer and some cool if light on bonus features.

I remember watching this movie as a child. This is always a good go-to movie for me!

First time watching it and it was hilarious, great all star cast with special appearance by Tupac! A comical take on Texas chainsaw with an original story

A classic black comedy horror film worth watching. It is fun, disturbing - in a good way -, entertaining, and by the time you notice you are already deeply drawn into Valkenvania and its amazing worldbuilding.Thank you mr. @Dan Aykroyd, for this lovely gem! :D

Hab eine DVD mit Region Code 1 erhalten mit dem Ergebnis, dass ich sie auf einem gewöhnlichen in Deutschland erworbenen DVD-Player nicht abspielen kann. So muss ich mich erst mal wieder verbiegen, um das Teil ans laufen zu bekommen.Vielen Dank liebe Filmindustrie! Wer ehrlich kauft, ist mal wieder der Arsch.Gibt trotzdem noch 3 Sterne, weil der Film einfach sau lustig ist! ;-)

Ob man Dan Aykroyds Regiedebüt nun als gelungen oder nicht beurteilt, vermag an dieser Stelle außer Acht zu bleiben. Die Bewertung meinerseits bezieht sich auf die erworbene RC-1 US DVD und diese ist leider eine nicht so spaßige Angelegenheit wie der Film: Es befindet sich einzig und allein der Film auf dieser DVD. Keine unterschiedlichen Audiospuren bzw. Sprachen, keine Untertitel und kein Bonusmaterial. Selbst das Menü trotzt einem mit einer unglaublichen Lieblosigkeit entgegen und verweigert selbst der Kapitelauswahl eine Vorschaufunktion.Wer den Film für wenig Geld sein Eigen nennen möchte, kann bedenkenlos zugreifen. Bild- und Tonqualität sind vergleichsweise gut. Wer allerdings gern wenigstens Untertitel für den englischen O-Ton, geschweige Bonusmaterial oder andere Sprachen wünscht sollte lieber auf die Suche nach der mittlerweile vergriffenen deutschen Version gehen.
