Quality Nipples - Horrible Delivery
Ordered those to overhaul a 36 spoke wheel so 100 of those should’ve been plenty enough. Unfortunately, the nipples arrived in a paper bag inside a small plastic container. The lead was open and the nipples were scattered around the bag. Even worse, most were missing with less than 30 left! I’ve been ordering lots of things from Amazon and that was the first time it was delivered so poorly. Good thing is that the spokes I ordered also came with nipples. They didn’t appear as good as DT Swiss though, but more importantly, they were functional and all present. So I ended up just using those instead. I understand it is not the product though so still give it 5 stars. The quality is really good, the threads and surfaces for the wrench are perfect fitting nicely my Park Tool spoke wrench.

(in my opinion) These are Counterfeit.
These(in my opinion) are not DT SWISS brand nipples. They are in a box that says they are but they cannot possibly be. I own 2 DT SWISS nipple tools and neither of them work as they should with these nipples. They keep shearing in half with even a small amount of tension. The ones that don't shear in half lengthwise, splinter down the side and break off a part of the rectangul so you cannot grab it with the tool AND THEN IT SHEARS OFF. NOT COOL MAN. WASTED MY TIME. EVERY SINGLE ONE OUT OF A BOX OF 100 HAVE BROKEN DURING INSTALLATION OR AFTER ONE TRUING OF WHEEL.

DT Swiss Nipples are great!
Building bike wheels is nothing new to me, for the last few years, and often this involves building with new spoke nipples and in some cases new spokes. Me personally I work on all bikes with all wheels anything from 26 x 1.75-2.125 to 26 x 1 ⅜ to 700C and so on. However, most of the time wheels on I take off of older bikes the nipple material gets eaten up, because brass is not very rust-resistant or considered a rustproof material, and due to that I'm usually starting over with new nipples, and in rare cases new spokes. Now as for the nipples themselves, like other reviews/reviewers here on amazon I have also in some rare cases stripped these DT Swiss nipples too, and this can be rather annoying and stressful. I often have to keep extra spokes and nipples around, because I had to cut the spoke because the nipple was stripped, (be it a flathead screwdriver, Nipple Screwdriver, Drilling, or a spoke wrench) which is dangerous and never fun. However, I have learned to use bike lube for wet and dry conditions, or linseed oil and if those fail, I have used penetrating oil: WD-40 (PB Blaster, Liquid Wrench, or any brand penetrating oil brand), 50% acetone, 50% Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF), etc, also help. See anything I've learned it's super important to have lubrication inside the nipple and threaded surface and on the threaded surface of the spoke. Without this, the nipple is more likely to strip otherwise, even grease is or anti-seize compound or ideally Loctite or Park Tool red thread locker. I've purchased these spoke nipples now multiple times and had great success, even if I stripped a few, anything I've learned is to slow down because if you go too fast, you might accidentally break something costing time, money, and materials when your building wheels always take your time. I highly recommend this product.
