Great quality knives, feel great in your hand and they look great on the table.

The knives are great but the handles have a certain odor to them.

The handles have a very strong, foul odor that does not dissipate even after washing (which temporarily makes the odor even stronger) and leaving the knives out of box for days. I had read other reviews which mention the odor and I had assumed it was a wood odor. But it is most certainly is not a wood odor and instead a strong, garbage-like stink. I ordered it to give as a gift. Thank goodness I opened it first. It would have been very embarrassing.

These are great steak knives that will last a lifetime. We have the same set that we bought about 15 years ago and still love them. The new set is for our daughter.

I received them as a gift for Christmas. Opened and washed them right away to use. I noticed an odd smell when I first opened but figured I could wash it way...Wrong! I like everything else about them and if the smell ever goes away I would update my review. Two days ago I let them soak overnight in a sink of dish soap, didn't help. I threw them in with a load in the dishwasher that night. Opened my dishwasher in the morning and now the dishwasher smells and the knives still stink! If I had bought them myself I would be asking for a refund!

Got this today and absolutely love the steakhouse steak knife set. The wooden knife handles give it a nice touch.

These are generally pretty solid knives, and cut very well, but the wood handles don't seem to be the most solid, and don't really seem like they'll last super long. We'll see how they do, making sure to clean and dry them promptly, but I guess only time will tell.
