Only carrier I could find for my 25lb dog!
My dog is a 25lb Pekalier. He has a long body (16" body length) but is able to fit comfortably in the rider with room left over. The carrier is a little bulky but considering the size of my dog, I thought it was the perfect size. Plus, this was the only one out there marketed for dogs at this weight.I have a Trek Pure Lowstep with an Avenir Rear ATB Rack.Installation was easy with the picture instructions. The "kit" for installation comes with a little metal clamp and velcro wraps that go around the frame of your bike so that the straps used to secure the carrier to the frame wont shift. There is also a front strap the goes around your seat post, so there are a total of 3 points of attachment. The straps are adjustable in length so that it will accommodate most (if not all) bike sizes.Like some of the other reviewers have noted, my dog does tend to lean to one side. I asked a friend to give it a test spin with my dog so I can see what adjustments I needed to make. I noticed that the carrier dipped slightly on the side that my dog was leaning on, so I made a few quick strap adjustments and problem was fixed!Taking it on and off after the initial installation is a breeze (usually only takes a minute to snap everything back on).The carrier is actually made of high density foam and comes with the washable cover. I was a little dismayed by this but the foam is really high quality and holds its shape extremely well. The cover has a reflective stripe which is a nice safety feature and I love the fact that it is washable. The only real con is that the harness isnt really as secure as Id like it to be. It has adjustable straps but theres only one point of attachment to your dog. I've found that if I bring his hind legs around the straps on each he is 10 x's more secure. Im also lucky because my dog is mellow and isnt squirmy. I've tried carrying my friends dogs using this method, and they were all fine and secured to carrier. All in all, totally worth the money and Im so glad I found this carrier!

Perfect for my 17-pound Shih Tzu
I bought this for my 17-pound Shih Tzu. It is an excellent product. It is well made, sturdy yet comfortable. I wanted my dog to ride in the front, but he is too large/heavy. I started by putting a plastic milk crate on a rear bike rack. This cost me nothing to try; I wanted to make sure my dog would not try jumping off the bike. He did well with the milk crate, so I decided to spend the money on this Snoozer seat, which gives him more room and is soft with lower sides for viewing. Other people's reviews always scare me off, but I'm glad I bought this seat. It was super easy to install with no tools required. Literally took a few minutes. I did watch the video on amazon first, and I added two zip ties. If I wanted to remove the seat from my bike, it would not be much trouble to do it. The seat is very secure. It does not wobble. The harness it comes with does what it is supposed to do in keeping your dog in the seat. I do not use mine overly tight because my dog does not try to jump out, and I want him to be able to adjust his position. But if you wanted to, you could make the straps as small as possible, and I don't see how your dog could go anywhere. My dog has room to spare and could lie down if he wanted to although he just sits. The seat is bulky like some other reviewers say...but how could it not be and still fit a larger small dog?! The only two things I don't like is that I can't sit as far back on my bike's seat as I like too because the dog seat is right up against it (no way to change that), and the metal clip that you attach to your dog's harness is bigger and heavier than it needs to be for a small dog. If you are looking for a way to take your dog with you when you go for a bike ride, I definitely would not hesitate to buy this seat.

Disappointed with Construction
I would not recommend this product because I do not feel it is as safe as it could be for your pet. The harness attachment is not sufficent enough to keep your pet secure in the carrier. On our 3rd ride testing the carrier, my dog was able to leap out when she saw another dog and almost got stuck in my back wheel. I was quickly able to grab her and luckly she was not harmed. I had to modify how I strapped her in and utilze small bungee cords to make sure she didn't try jumping out again. Attaching the carrier to your bike is not the best either. The carrier relies on straps that you can extend or tighted depending on your needs. I had to check them several times during rides to retighten them because they would losen during the ride.

Tie the front of the harness to the front strap
This bicycle rear basket is perfect for our Boston Terrier. She will be around 20lbs and the basket is large and comfortable for her.The 3 back straps that come with the basket are not enough. Our dog bungee jumped the back of the basket twice before we tied her to the front strap. Thankfully, she was wearing a harness and was suspended by the back of her harness. I read in the reviews that this has been happening frequently. We followed a suggestion to use one of her dog collars slipped around the front strap that holds the basket to the bicycle seat, and through the front of her harness. This did the trick and she was secured and could still move around. I love to take her everywhere I go.

Lily was totally safe in the harness and she enjoyed the ride tremendously
Wow ! My friend installed this seat for my dog and we went for a 2 hour ride. Although bulky, it is light, well padded and fits perfectly in the back of the bike. Lily was totally safe in the harness and she enjoyed the ride tremendously. I was afraid that It would not support her as she is a jack russell corgy mix and weighs close to 20 pounds and has a rather long body but it was perfect. Some people in cars passing us by even stopped to ask me where I got the seat. I am going on vacation at the country and I am planning to take my dog everywhere with me. I strongly recommend this pet rider for anyone who likes to take their dog with them when they bike ! S.G.

Fine, but needs adjustements. A smaller version would be good.
The Snoozer Pet Rider is fine.Pros:- Very comfy- My dog had lots of free space- Do not move on the rackNow, I returned it because: - The "3 point strap" wasn't holding my dog correctly. He could just turn himself and jump outside ... I had to attach my dog to my bike seat with a leach to ensure safety - Too bulky, and a bit ugly ... - My dog was a bit too small and had too much space, and since it was bulky. - Is useless if you are riding without the dog.Rather using the snoozer, I build my own dog basket using a classic basket, special screws, adjusted leachs and pillows. He likes it !

No more guilt about leaving our dog at home!!
Our dog (17lb chiweenie) loves this seat! He is so excited to hear we’re going for a bike ride! We needed to add another fastener to his collar at the front edge of the seat but that was super easy with a cut off from an old leash.
