Limelight (Arcane Casebook Book 5)

I am so pleased I gave this series a try. It is now one of my favourites. The characters are great, the cases truly interesting and the I love the different take on magic

This series keeps getting better and better. The stories are original and the characters well done with depth and personality.

The series is fun. The magic is interesting. Give it a whirl and you’ll find some things to enjoy and think about.

What happened? The timing was good, the plot was interesting, the dialog was reasonable (not great but reasonable) and the characters weren't complete morons. Well, the main character indulged in stupidity at least once but more on that later. A vast improvement over the last four slow books. Well done.I look forward to the day when the main character stops with the stupidity of, "Oh, woe is me, my power is too great to unleash upon the world... oh how secretly awesome I am that I protect everyone from the secret things I know.!", because that's not only tedious it reveals something unpleasant in the main character (or the author), a secret tendency to treat other people as pets to be cared for and... kept.I also look forward to the day when the main character actually begins to help others, something people during that time period well knew how to do. A few simple gifts of shielded coats to his police friends, his sorcerer friends, etc. A few tricks to stop people from being spied on. A few tricks to store energy for sorcerers or himself to use later. And now that he has another runewright vault, a nice place to hide or give his sorcerer friends and police friends a way to get around when necessary (without compromising his own vault further - seriously, leaving the door open, how disappointingly stupid). In any case, obvious room for improvements.Be that as it may, the story has potential and it is a great relief not to have modern politics intrude as so many modern authors think is amusing or necessary or simply fashionable in order to teach us poor, ignorant helots the "reality" of our lives and how we should then live. In any case, a fun book and well worth the read.

This book takes us in a new Direction that is pleasing to the senses if you're into books about magic

Great idea for a series and each edition offers character growth and action aplenty. I will devour all of these titles in short order. I vow!

The story arc is beginning to come together -- secrets are revealed and new mysteries introduced. Frankly, as a reader, the series simply becomes, like Limelight, seriously addictive. I eagerly anticipate the next installment!

This the best series I've read in a while. it s the equal to, or even surpasses, the Dresden series. Dan's writing is fast paced and engaging.

Another great installment in the series. I am truly enjoying following along with the adventure and will start the next book now.Keep up the great writing! Thank hou!

The plot was, as usual, both engaging and enticing. The supporting characters that we all know and love make an appearance and at the end, a whole new can of worms is dropped at our laps. I don't care much for cliffhangers, but this one is expertly done. Read it. It's worth it.

Limelight has got to be the best of the series so far! If you like your fantasy in a modern setting then you have got to read this series.

Honestly it was a brilliant story and really felt like the MC took a massive step in this one and it was so captivating.
