Currently half way through this book, a book club choice.

I bought this book used, because I had read good reviews from others, and because Dodie Smith lived in the next village before she died. It was a young people's book, but I really enjoyed it.

Easy read for teenagers - good story line and fun.

Wonderful book, copy purchased to replace a much read one that fell apart!

The fictional diary of Cassandra Mortmain, telling of her extraordinary family, their crumbling castle and the arrival of new neighbours from America.The first sentence – ‘I write this sitting in the kitchen sink’ – promises a unique and addictive read, and the book more than delivers. I galloped through it, repeatedly delighted, surprised and impressed. Simply wonderful.How did I fail to read it before? A classic (published in 1949) that somehow passed me by until I happened upon someone praising it a few months ago.

One of my favourite books of all time.
