The scale is a good, basic, serviceable piece of equipment. In the state where I live, it cannot be certified, however. If that is important to you, you may wish to check befor purchasing. On the other hand, the packaging was atrocious. There were two boxes, an outer one, and the one containing the scale. The tape was torn a bit on the outer box; can't do much about that. But there was nothing to cushion the inner box, which had obviously bounced around a bit. It was open, the scale was half out, and the glass dial cover was in the outer box. So, a stronger inner box and some airbags to keep that inner box from slamming around?
