Exactly what I needed
This cable splitter/amplifier is exactly what I needed, and has worked great for my situation.I have 8 coaxial ports throughout my house, plus a cable modem. So that means I need 9 outputs total, where most splitters are only 4-way or 8-way. So with this one, I can split cable TV to 8 of my ports, while still having one more pass-through port to plug into my cable modem. The 8 main outputs are amplified, so I have had no trouble on the other end of each one getting a perfect signal. Even the unamplified ninth port has plenty of signal strength for my cable modem to work perfectly at full speed.Even though only the unamplified port is labeled "modem", I tried using my modem on one of the amplified ports and it worked just as good while reporting a higher signal strength. So I'm not sure if there is a reason you're not supposed to do that (comment if you know!), but if you want to do that, I can verify it works. You can also mount this if you have a data closet or a particular setup that calls for it. It is heavy and feels very high quality.Note that it does not include any coaxial cables. The AC power also requires a coaxial cable to travel across between the unit and the AC adapter. So make sure you have some coaxial cable available.*Summary*Pros:[+] Solid, sturdy, heavy, high-quality unit[+] Provides an extra port compared to most 8-way splitters/amplifiers, for a total of 9 outputs (1 unamplified)[+] Easy to setup and mount if desired[+] Amplifies signal well so you won't lose signal strength like you do with passive splittersCons:[-] Does not include coaxial cable(s)Other thoughts:[*] You may want to also purchase some coaxial "L" adapters to make it easier to connect multiple coaxial cables to this since they are pretty close together and might make it difficult to manage if you don't have much room. If you aren't going to use all ports, you might also consider some terminators for the unused ones. Both of these add-ons can be purchased very inexpensively in large quantities.

8 port HD antenna amplifier/distributor
This product has done everything it claims to do, and exactly as it claims to do it, plus some. I have added it to my structured network and it is even placed after an HD antenna booster located at the antenna. Literature suggests this will not work, however it in fact works really well. This may be because of the 80 foot coaxial cable that sends the signal to the distribution point. At the distribution point, the coax splits two ways- one to an HDTV and the other to a PAL DVR. The DVR then feeds the 8 Port Dist AMP. I am 40 miles from most OTA channels and have a fairly large Channel Master Antenna(also a great product). The signal is already very good because of the clear line of sight to the networks( I am at 500ft elevation, most OTA networks are lower). However I had trouble getting good feeds to all the TV's in the house because of the long coaxial home runs to the network center. The 8 Port distributes the amplified signal beautifuly. All of my sets recieve great signal and the power insertion feature for this unit works flawlessly. I would definately reccommend this unit to anyone in a similar situation. It will only amplify a "good signal" towards a satisfactory result. If your signal at the antenna is poor, it will amplify a poor quality signal to a less than stellar and degraded picture. I will post an update if the unit fails or quality changes.

Replaced three splitters/amplifiers with this one device
I replaced three splitters, one of which was also an amplifier, with this device. It worked well with my MOCA adapters (Actiontecs using channel D2) and all four TV tuners are within -5 to +5 db. While it had a bypass port which I attached to my cable and internet modem run, the port appeared to boost my modem's upstream power to above 50 dBmV. I swapped the power supply provided (15V, 300mA) with another power supply from another coax amplifier I had (12V, 500mA) and the upstream power dropped back just below 50dBmV. With my 3 splitter/amp configuration, the upstream power (with the modem coming off an unamplified 2-way splitter) was in the mid 40s, which is a much better number than in the 50s.I like how it simplified my wiring, but I may go back to using 3 splitters/amps if I start seeing issues due to the high upstream power (e.g., video pixelation, choppy sound, etc.).

Works Good
I bought this powered splitter because I have 8 tv's in my house plus jacks I could have a possible 3 more hooked up.I think because of the extensive cableing and splitters I have all over the house it reduced my signal where i was notbeing able to pickup all channels and picture quality was extremely low. I attached this to my signal cable coming into the house after 1 splitter for cable modem and sent all tv signals with this including many splitters after this powered splitterI now pick up all my channels!! and picture quality is very good HD channels look great. I was actually suprised, I was a littlenervous when I bought it did not think it would work or work as good as it did. I did try cable modem through it but seen no differencein modem speeds so I decided to leave the cable modem on the first splitter before the powered splitter. I am very happy with this productits only been in place for a couple of days now so I just hope it lasts a long time.
