Rette sich wer kann!
If you want this to help you learn German, a lot of it is not good German -- the native Africans' incorrect use of grammar is (for better or worse) part of the story, and everything they say is accordingly compromised.Despite this, it is very colorful, and I found it hugely helpful -- after all, few language primers give examples of how to express one's self under duress, while Tim is at peril just about every other page here. Struppi's comments are especially useful, being typically amusing. As a result, TIM IM KONGO is the Tintin book I've read the most times, despite being in a language I comprehend only with a Wortebuch in hand.I bought KONGO in pre-Amazon days, and considered myself lucky to find it. Now TINTIN IN THE CONGO is available for a click, but some things just aren't best read in one's native language. TIM IM KONGO and GARFIELD STREICHT EIN both strike me as more entertaining than their English versions, partly because both are amusingly and strongly told, and simple to understand. Otherwise, as Struppi hears on page 2: "Rette sich wer kann!"
